Please do not rent here, you will eventually regret it

My husband and I are responsible, older, educated, working adults. Before living at Brier Creek we happily lived in an apartment for six years. When we moved out, we got our deposit back and the property was sad to see us go. I am writing this to warn you about Brier Creek. My husband found a job in Raleigh, found this complex and thought it would be a good fit for us. The only reason people live here is because the rent is inexpensive compared to others. It is overrun with drugs. We couldn't... use our balcony because the smell of pot was so strong it burned our eyes. It came through the vents. We complained to the office. They came, they smelled, they did nothing. All they care about is money. The walls and floors are thin. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing – including huge fights. We even called the police in the middle of the night when we feared a domestic disturbance was taking place. The hallways and stairs were always dirty and you never knew what you were going to find – everything from soiled underwear to broken fake fingernails. Disgusting. We stayed one year. When we moved out we got hit with a bill for over $1,000 for carpet damage. I will tell you, we did not damage the carpet. They are thieves. The office workers appear nice at first but could care less about you. The fitness room was disgusting: did not have towels and cleaner available and most of the machines were broken. One more deterrent: traffic around the area is terrible. What should have taken me 20 minutes to get to work would take 40 plus because of the traffic most days.

Horrible Staff

I encountered numerous problems with staff when my apartment was flooded. They also threatened to kick me out because my miserable neighbor worked from home and complained about my puppy barking. I had to seek legal counsel for them to even let me relocate buildings, only for them to tack on $1,100 in moving fees. The district manager and property manager are classless.

bad news

I won't go into to much detail because the site won't let me but there was a lot of money involved with a problem that wasn't caused by me.

Not so Fancy

For a pretty new apartment complex ( 2 years) I feel that my rent is going more to our amenities than the apartment itself. We do have a beautiful pool but the upkeep on the hammocks, gazebo is lacking. We have a gated community yet the back gate is broken so many people by pass the main gate and come in the back ( yeah that doesn't make me feel comfortable). Overall for the price its not living up to the location but I do like my location and have met some really good friends here.
