Whether is class, work, sports practice, or you’re simply running late, fitting in a meal can be difficult when you’re on a tight schedule. The key to getting a filling meal, on time, in running-out-of-time situation, is by meal prepping. You can make easy to-go meals and keep them in your apartment or dorm fridge for up to a few days if not a week, specifically for when you just don’t have enough time to sit down and eat. Here’s a list of ideas to help you meal prep your meals to-go!
Mason Jar Meals
Mason jars have been used for just about anything other than actual canning or food, but this idea is perfect for a mason jar, or any jar/container. Add some salad dressing to the bottom, then layer your favorite salad ingredients, and add a bit more salad dressing on top. Make sure to tie a fork with string around the jar so that you don’t forget your eating utensil when on the run!
You can also make “tacos” in a jar. Instead of tortillas, use Frito chips or other corn chips small enough to fit in the jar and layer your favorite taco ingredients. There are tons of mason jar meals out there that are worth a try!
Muffin Tin Meals
Next time you’re home or if you live in an apartment, you can make tons of easy snack meals to go using muffin tin baking pans. Make easy corn dogs with cornbread mix and hot dog chunks in the middle. Reheat in the microwave and run to class!
