Apartment Deposits

Apartment Deposits

I have been a tenant for 12 years and my community is terminating the lease in order to renovate the apartment. Can they keep any of my deposit?   The outcome of this scenario would depend on the terms agreed upon in your lease. It would be a good idea to obtain a copy of the original lease you signed and read through carefully to see what, if any, stipulations are in place. If you feel that there are legal implications, it might be useful to reach out to an attorney to help you navigate this situation.
