Las Vegas has an array of never-ending entertainment options that range from big city living to small town feel. So if you’re in the mood for escaping the city lights for some good ole’ country fun, then you’ll definitely enjoy these places.
From Farming to Fishing
Enjoying the outdoor countryside usually includes farm animals, horseback riding, fishing and even hunting. Even if you don’t consider yourself a cowboy, you can still enjoy the great outdoors at one of these Las Vegas area attractions.
Mckee Ranch
As a Las Vegas local, you will learn to love a getaway from the big city on a Sunday afternoon right down the street. Mckee Ranch is located right off the 15 freeway just south of the Las Vegas Strip on Dean Martin. Mckee Ranch is a great place to unwind where you can feed the horses, ducks, chickens, sheep and a goat named “Oreo.” Throughout the year, the ranch hosts special events, including on Memorial Day and even a pumpkin patch in the month of October.
Bonnie Springs Ranch
This ranch is home to the Red Rock riding stables and Old Town Nevada. It was originally built in 1843 as a stop for wagon trains on the way to California — even General Fremont visited in 1846. Since 1952, Bonnie Springs has been a tourist attraction featuring a zoo, Wild West live performances, horseback riding, and train rides.
Floyd Lamb Park and The Ranch at Tule Springs
This 680-acre park offers stunning views of the mountains, a beautiful lake, farm animals and horseback riding.
These are only a few Vegas places filled with country style, and during your visit, you can also check out the pistol range, archery range and fish feeding at the Bass Pro Shop attached to the Silverton Casino. If you’re in the mood to catch some fish, you can head out to Lake Mead. Many of these parks also offer farmers markets like Gilcrease Orchard, which produces its own famous apple cider.
Music, Food, and Dancing
Of course, if you’re wanting to enjoy the nightlife with some food and fun, you can have a mix of both at many of the country taverns around town. A few to name that are found amidst the glamor and lights are Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Town Square, Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah’s and PBR Rock Bar & Grill in Planet Hollywood, where you’ll be sure to find a mix of mechanical bull riding, dance lessons and live music. So get your boots out and get a two-steppin’.
Special Events
Besides the everyday opportunities for enjoying the good ole’ country, there are also some events that Las Vegas locals wait to come around each year. The annual National Finals Rodeo has its kickoff “Downtown Hoedown” at Downtown Fremont Street, where you can enjoy a free concert with some of your favorite country singers in November and then catch the rodeo in December at the Thomas & Mack Arena.
Also on Fremont Street, the Academy of Country Music has hosted free concerts; this year it hosted the fourth annual Party for a Cause Festival at the new Las Vegas Fairgrounds. At the South Point Hotel & Casino arena, you can take part in other rodeos, along with horse show events.

You can already start to smell it just by talking about it. If you’re looking for a neighborhood that offers the country right in your backyard, you can find beautiful apartment communities located in a more rural area of town with this Las Vegas apartment locator. Such areas include Summerlin close to Red Rock Canyon, Centennial Hills next to Mount Charleston and Henderson with nearby Lake Mead. If you live more in the metropolitan area of Las Vegas but would like to have a getaway to the country for the day, I’m sure you’ll enjoy some of these great options, like the great outdoors, the archery range or the live country music.
