It’s that time of year again. Don’t let summer fun fool you… school is just around the corner, whether you like it or not. And of all things that are important, a good nights rest is at the top of that list. Make sure your future college student has all the tools to get a good nights rest. Recent studies have shown that sleep deprivation has been linked as a “better predictor of mortality than smoking, cardiac disease, or hypertension. One other study found that people who slept six hours or less a night had a 70% higher mortality rate over a nine-year period than those who slept seven to eight hours a night” (according to SuperFoods-HealthStyle).
So, now that I have your attention. Not to say infamous college “all-nighters” are going to kill anyone, but in the long-run it will take a toll on the body. I can guarantee, however, that you parents will get a better nights sleep knowing that your little scholar is tucked in nice and comfortably. So where are the best places to get a great bed setup, without killing your bank account? Let’s be practical here, you are also funding a whole new bedroom when your child goes away to school, so every penny saved is going to help. Here are a couple places we recommend for comfortable, yet affordable, college bedding:
- TheCompanyStore.com/College-Bound
- CollegePad.com
- DormCo.com
- Walmart.com/cp/College-Bedding
Most of these places also have great items to compliment the décor of your bedding. A matching rug would be a great addition; especially on cold mornings when you don’t feel like getting up for that 8 o’clock class. A warm fuzzy rug is a more welcoming transition from your cozy bed, than ice cold tile. Also, check out our ‘Back-To-School’ blog for a starting point as to where you can get creative with the rest of your dorm.
