ForRent.com is continuing to inspire you with do-it-yourself projects from our Crafting for Charity event last month. Next up? A DIY chalkboard tutorial for your home.
At The Nicholas House the residents have a dining room table labeled with a number that corresponds to each family. Previously the space had laminated numbers that were taped to the wall above each table but Homes.com design expert Beth Hunter had another idea! Chalkboards were purchased and using the inspiring paint color scheme for the space, painted to coordinate.
1. Using painters tape, tape off the frame of the chalk board (so the tape is on the inside of the frame)
2. Select your color for the frame that will complement existing frames in the space
3. Using a brush, paint the frame and let it dry before pulling off the tape. Voila, you have a beautifully personalized chalkboard perfect for your space!
