Green Decorating

Green Decorating

While green is a lovely color and you may want to paint your room a nice shade of shamrock, when we say green, we mean environmental. So how can you decorate your home while staying in the green?  Three ways: Restore
Restoring old vases into a more modern decoration.
  Reuse
Include antique chairs like this to give your home a vintage feel.
Reinvent
Turn old into new by making something like an old suitcase into something completely different like a medicine cabinet!
If you’re trying to avoid throwing out an old piece of furniture, try restoring it.  With a new finish or new upholstery you can avoid creating needless waste, and hold on to your favorites that you can’t part with.  Reuse your old china and vintage items rather than getting rid of them.  If you still hate those old items, reinvent them to make something you can live with.  You can create brand new works of art that will fit into your home better or even make great gifts! Green is all about saving.  Saving money, saving the environment and saving time!  Look for things other people are getting rid of, throwing away or selling. Check out places like: Yard Sales Consignment Shops Craigslist Free Items Auctions Thrift Stores   So easy, so fun and endless possibilities.  There is something green for every decorating style, so start looking and repurposing!   Photos from:  Chook with the looks, tobecharmed, and lynx bazar on flickr.com
