Group Activities for You and Your Friends This Summer

The days are warmer and longer and the possibilities of how these next few months can be spent are absolutely endless. So, here are a few suggestions to keep you and your friends busy and active! Summer is the perfect time to pick up and do a little exploring. First pick a place on a map, next grab a couple of your closest friends and go! So much of who you are as a person comes from the growing and transitioning through this time of your life. This is the best time to learn about and experience new places and cultures. Or if lots of traveling isn’t really your thing, then pick a city in your home state and go explore over a long weekend. Better yet, pick a beach and rent a house with a huge group of your friends for a week. You can all split the cost of the rental, bring food to cook, chip in on gas, etc. Bring air mattresses and turn it into your “Mid Summer Break.” Build fires on the beach (check local laws first!), stay up all night and sleep in the sun all day. Just make sure wear your sun block. friendship, happiness, summer vacation, holidays and people concept - close up of friends sitting near fire on beach Next, do some local sightseeing. This is a really great option if your traveling funds are tight! And lots of times, you’ll discover a lot of really cool things to do and see right in your own backyard. Take a Saturday and do some local exploring. Go check out your local wildlife preserves, museums, coffee shops, farmer’s markets, etc. Do some outdoor adventures like hiking or floating down your local river. Pick a new activity every week and see what it has to offer. Take a random day and go visit every historic landmark in your city. You’d be surprised what hidden gems the majority of cities have to offer, a lot of them being rich in history! Turn it into a game with your group of friends. You guys can split up into teams and whichever group has the least amount of photos buys the pizza or Chinese for your next movie night in.
