Looking to get more space out of your new apartment? Look up! Go vertical with your storage to make the most out of the space you do have. There are lots of areas where vertical storage might just work for you. Think of all of that space that is sitting unused in your home. The cabinets in your kitchen is a great example of how this type of storage can make a huge difference. But how do you utilize this method in other rooms? We have some ideas for you to gain storage in the other rooms of your apartment.
Start by thinking of storage options that can be hung on your walls. From shelves to storage boxes and more, there are lots of things you can organize with this method. Here we added a box to the wall to do double duty for storage and organized various body sprays and lotions. We even added a simple frame as a jewelry organizer. This type of organization is perfect for your bedroom, bathroom, or even a closet.
This same method can be used for towel and toiletry storage in your bathroom as well. The version shown this time has a more rustic look but the idea is the same. We also added some hanging storage in this case. What items can you hang to store? And can you use your walls for that and free up some space in your closet? Think of your walls as more than just a place to decorate. Those same decor items can be the ultimate in storage and give you the space that you have been seeking.
Moving on to your furniture choices, those can help you to go vertical as well. When choosing storage options, the higher may just be the better. Here we used tall cube organizers to raise the storage options in this room and fit more into a small space. Things like a printer can be put on higher shelves and clear space on your desk surface.

Need a more compact option? Add storage to the top of your existing furniture. You can add a hutch to a desk or existing bookshelf for tons of storage in a small footprint. Look for ready made options or grab some wood and create your own. Either way, you are sure to gain a ton of storage with this idea.
Another way to go vertical is to utilize the back of your doors. This often unused area is perfect for gaining unused space and using the vertical space in your home. Add hooks or shoe organizers over your doors then get creative with what you add to them. From scarves to shoes to seasonal items, your doors can offer up storage you have never considered.
Think outside of the box and look up for your storage options. Thinking about ways to use the vertical space in your apartment can help you to get organized and utilize that often unused space in your home. Use our ideas for a starting point and get creative to make them work for your space.
