The spaces we live in can be difficult places to decorate. You want them to feel cozy and comfortable because this is where a lot of time is spent, yet you still want your home to look nice and expensive. Pinterest has our minds spinning with new ideas, but we often feel limited because of our budgets. Today we are going to talk about five different (and cheap) ways to make your living spaces look fancy.
Decorate Around the TV
TVs can be eyesores for sure, but if you are a fan of watching your weekly shows, you can’t exactly just throw it out. Hide it in the midst of decoration to distract others from the giant black box hanging on your wall. To do that, choose to completely hide it using TV covers (available at certain stores) to give the appearance of artwork, or if your budget doesn’t allow, a more budget-friendly option would be to hang items around the TV to distract the eye.
Choose a Neutral Color Palette
Color definitely matters when you are trying to set a tone. Neutral colors tend to provide a more polished, uncluttered and clean look in your space. If your personal style is screaming for some color, bring the color in through the use of accessories, thus not committing yourself to any bold choices.
Add a Little Bit of History
Sometimes the old brings new life to a room. By adding an important piece of your history to the spaces in your home, you can provide a room with nostalgia that represents generations of wisdom. Sometimes older is better.

Simplify Your Style
Less is almost always more, especially in regards to decorating. Our personal styles might contradict this, but sometimes simplicity speaks louder than clutter. If you are trying to make your home look more expensive, declutter by removing any unnecessary decorations and furniture. By keeping your space clean and minimal, it gives the appearance of a more organized and put-together space.
Decorate With the “Different” Pieces
Don’t get sucked into the mindset that you have to use frames on your walls. By expanding your ideas, you can provide a more interesting element that will feel more like a piece of art than just another frame and can set the tone for your room, providing guests with a topic of conversation.
So next time you are ready to freshen up your space or moving to a new location, don’t feel limited by your budget. By incorporating some of the above tips into your décor, you will be on your way to a mature and well-rounded home.
