Decorative Plates
– Purchase a set of sturdy glass plates from the Dollar Tree. Be sure the plates are completely flat on the bottom and are not curved or rounded in any way.
– Position a piece of decorative tissue paper (any color or pattern you like) beneath each plate and cut around it with a craft knife.
– Spray the bottom of the plates with a spray adhesive.
– Flip the plates over and smooth the circular pieces of tissue paper against them, making sure they stick to all tacky areas.
Marbled Glass Tumblers
– Purchase as many glass tumblers as you like from the Dollar Tree, along with a handful of different-colored nail polish bottles.
– Fill a plastic Tupperware container halfway with water and pour in the contents of each nail polish, one after the other.
– Use a toothpick to swirl the nail polish colors around, creating a marbled look.
– Wrap your glass tumblers in painter’s tape, then dip each one into the container.
– Pull them out, allowing any excess water to drip off, and set them on paper towels to dry.
– Finish off by brushing the bottom half of the glasses with a clear coat of nail polish.
Glass Gem Vase
– Purchase two bags of glass accent gems at the Dollar Tree, along with a large glass vase.
– Wipe the vase down with rubbing alcohol to be sure it’s as clean as possible.
– Squeeze a small dollop of clear silicone onto the back of each gem, then place it on the vase. Repeat until the entire vase is covered.
Shampoo and Conditioner Bottles
– Purchase two soap dispenser bottles from the Dollar Tree.
– Carefully peel the labels from the bottles, using nail polish remover to get rid of any sticky residue that is left over.
– Dump out the Dollar Tree soap (if you don’t want to waste it, you can pour it all into a larger bottle) and rinse out the bottles.
– Adhere velvet letters for “S” and “C” (you can purchase velvet letters at any craft or home improvement store) onto the bottles.
– Fill the “S” bottle with shampoo and the “C” bottle with conditioner.
Fancy Dresser Mirror
– Purchase a round acrylic tray and a bag of accent gems from the Dollar Tree.
– Glue a round mirror to the acrylic tray. Be sure to use a glue that works on non-porous surfaces, like an E-6000 glue adhesive or Gorilla Glue.
– Glue a border of accent gems around the mirror (you can create several borders to make it look fuller).
– Allow the glue to dry overnight.
– Place the mirror upright in a stand, on an easel, or on anything that is strong enough to hold it.
