Did you know you can use metallic accessories to brighten your space? They will bounce light around your home and make your space feel brighter and even larger. Metallic accessories can be large or small and can be purchased to fit with your home’s décor. Try some of the ideas below or use them as a jumping point for your own bright and shiny space.
Grab a variety of accessories in metallic gold to bounce the light around any room in your home. You can also purchase spray paint in a variety of metallic sheens and alter the accessories you already love. Think about your containers as well as the other items you have sitting on tables, shelves, dressers, etc. This bowl is a great example of a storage container that can be used for display or to store items and also reflect light around your home.
Your kitchen will never look brighter once you add in those few metallic accessories. This bowl just required a few coats of metallic paint to add that shine to the outside. The same idea can be used for mason jars or any other accessory. Here we took mason jars and added some metallic stripes for a fun way to add candles to your décor.
The sun will bounce off of the metallic shine during the day and the candle light will illuminate your space at night. If paint is not your thing, try gold foil leafing for a simple way to add that shine. You will need the proper adhesive as well as gold foil sheets, but this craft can easily transform any object in your space into something that really shines.
The leafing is usually slightly rustic, which is something I love about the technique. If you want a cleaner look, try gold foil paper or vinyl. These can make gorgeous signs, accessories, wall art and oh so much more. Here we took some gold metallic vinyl and added it to a nautical sign for a little more shine in the bathroom.
The craft projects do not have to stop there! Another way to add gold metallic shine to items you have on hand is to add gold glitter. If you love tons of bling, this may just be the project for you. Add glitter to a vase for a splash of shine in your home. If you set the vase on a mirror, the reflection of light will amaze you!
Speaking of mirrors, every home should try out a disco ball! This accessory will add some whimsy to your space as well as bounce tons of light around at different times of the day. They come in a variety of different sizes, so look around to find the best for your space.
Try a few metallic accessories around your home to brighten your space and make it feel larger. A light-filled home is something that will boost your mood as well. The ideas above can be used with gold, or you can change them up and try silver instead. Either way, you will love what metallics do for your home.
