When decorating, using statement pieces above the headboard is one way to really show off the wall behind your bed. A statement piece does not have to be expensive, either. It can be something like large art, a painted focal wall or a large gallery of thrift store collections. We have ideas for every type of room and budget below. Try one or more of our ideas in your home for a masterful bedroom that is perfectly decorated.
A small apartment can really benefit from the use of a daybed. You can make a room multifunctional with the addition of this piece of furniture. The problem arises when looking for ways to decorate above a daybed. Try scouting out an extra large piece of art to make a wow statement when anyone enters the room. You can either purchase or make a large sign, or look for a framed piece.
If you aren’t having any luck finding a single piece to make your statement, try changing it up with multiple pieces of art hung to look like one single statement piece. Here, we used six canvases that each depict a portion of a map. Hung together, they make a big statement on any wall.
If you have room for a more traditional bed in your apartment, you can also try a couple of different methods to make a statement above those headboards. Start by shopping for a large sign or framed artwork to hang over the bed. If you can’t find anything within your budget, consider making some large art that you love. Take inspiration from our pictures or even this bedroom makeover.
You can also make the entire wall behind your bed a focal piece. Start with an amazing paint treatment like stripes, if your property manager will allow you to paint. The example below is great for those on a budget. Pick up a variety of items at thrift stores and use those on the wall. Empty frames painted a variety of colors can be used to clip up art. These items can be collected over time but will end up being one fabulous statement piece in your bedroom.
