Many of us maximize our kitchen storage by storing things on the top shelves as well as on top of the cabinets. Once our pots and pans are up there, how do you get them down? That’s when either you get a chair from your dining room or desk, or you get a kitchen step stool. Having a step stool around is also handy if you have children around, so they can easily reach kitchen items that are placed higher.
What you will need:
- wooden stool
- spray paint (2 coordinating colors)
- sandpaper
- scrapbook paper
- Mod Podge & foam brush
- Finishing craft spray or poly
Instructions:
- Paint the stool. Let dry, and if you want you can distress the edges.
- If you want to use footprints on your stool go with spray paint! Spray the paint on a paper plate, then with a paintbrush apply the paint onto the feet being used. Press the foot down on the stool, making sure to press on each toe. Carefully lift up, and follow the same process with the rest of the feet.
- You can also print desired text, names, and dates on the scrapbook paper. Mod Podge the paper to your stool.
- Apply a finishing spray or a poly lacquer to seal the paint.
This will look good in any apartment or home kitchen. You can take the footprints of family members, roommates, friends, and even pets! This step stool also makes a great gift and keepsake.
