Want an easy way to turn your bathroom into a personal spa? Pamper yourself by making homemade bath salts in relaxing fragrances to soak away stress and fill your home with an amazing aroma at the same time! You can mix up the salts in minutes flat and decide whether to keep them or give to friends and family as coveted DIY gifts. This two-ingredient relaxing bath salt recipe is sure to be a hit!
I like to buy unscented Epsom salt in bulk; it’s less expensive and you’ll need to use about one cup per bath, so buying bulk is a budget-friendly solution. Invest in therapeutic-grade essential oils. You’ll want to make sure they’re pure and don’t contain fillers or added fragrances. Popular oils to mix with Epsom salt include lavender, eucalyptus and peppermint. Use the oil that best suits your needs or mix and match.
The recipe is simple:
1 cup Epsom salt
5 to 10 drops of pure essential oil (if using an oil that needs dilution, use less)
Simply add the drops of oil to the salt, then mix and place in an airtight container. The above ingredients make enough salt for one bath, but you can make larger batches like I do and store them in a large jar.
If gifting, mason jars with a piece of cloth placed between the top and the ring make a wonderful and appreciated gift! Be sure to add a tag with the usage instructions.
To use, place one cup of the scented salt into hot, running bath water. Soak about 20 minutes and enjoy the relaxing benefits of a detoxifying bath.
Want your bathroom to have an even more spa-like atmosphere? Spend a few moments freshening up your bathroom and you’ll have a clean and enjoyable space in which to relax while soaking away the stress of the day.
If you enjoy creating these easy bath salts, try making Homemade Peppermint Bath Bombs next. You’ll love the fresh scent, and they make fantastic gifts. After all, relaxing and pampering are the best gifts you can give, and an added bonus is that your homemade products are natural and chemical-free!
Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best, and this one is no exception. Now go and enjoy your relaxing, stress-free bath!
