Commercial brands of air freshener can be full of chemicals. Eliminate those toxins from your life by freshening your air naturally. There are actually quite a few ways to add amazing smells to the air. Try one or more of the ideas below to make your home smell as amazing as it looks!
A simple way to immediately add something special to the air is a pot simmer.
Add a few ingredients to a small pot with some water. Allow it to simmer and add that amazing fragrance to your entire home. Just be sure to keep the pot filled with water.
You can actually customize the scent to match your personality but a few options include:
Citrus blend with 2 cups of water, 1 sliced apple, 1 sliced orange, 1 sliced lemon, 2 tablespoons cloves, and 4 cinnamon sticks
Spice blend with an orange rind, 1 sliced apple, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tablespoon cloves, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 2 cups of water.
Don’t love the idea of monitoring a pot on your stove all day? Make this natural air freshener in a jar that can be placed in any room to freshen the air.
Add ¼ cup of baking soda to a jar with 5 – 10 drops of your favorite essential oil. Add decorative paper or even a cupcake liner to the top and poke some holes.
You can set this mason jar anywhere around your home! The baking soda will help to absorb odors while the essential oil will add a sweet scent to the room.
