Venice Beach Skatepark
We’ve all seen the sunny boardwalks of Venice Beach on television or in movies, with skaters buzzing down the sidewalk accompanied by street fairs and tourists enjoying the surf. The Venice Beach Skatepark, with its 20,000 feet of skating area, is just another little bit of enchantment of this idyllic location. Located directly on the beach, this skatepark has a bit of something for every skater’s needs from an old style snake run and large skate bowls to clean and smooth concrete ramps. All participants must wear helmets for their own safety. Knee and elbow pads are optional and there is no fee to skate here.

The area is a central hub for the East Los Angeles area with ancient shade trees, abundant flora, and interesting wildlife. In addition, it offers a wide variety of available facilities and is one of Los Angeles’ most popular skateparks with countless obstacles to challenge any serious skateboarder. The area is clean and suitable for all ages.
The Alex Road Skatepark
The City of Oceanside’s newest skatepark is outstanding and dedicated solely to skateboarders only; no roller blades, bikes, roller skates, or scooters are allowed. However, with its amazing 22,000 square feet of skating area, this is a must-visit location for skateboarders of all ages. This park has many street-like features, which are popular with die-hard skateboarders —offering handrails, curbs, benches, and other features of urban settings to mix up your imagination and your skill range. In addition, it has two exciting snake runs and two large skate bowls. The Alex Road Skatepark is the pride of Oceanside and the city works hard to ensure its cleanliness, outstanding condition, and your safety while you enjoy this one-of-a-kind skateboarding park.
Lake Cunningham Regional Skatepark
Boasting as the largest skatepark in California, Lake Cunningham Regional Skatepark is 68,000 square feet and is a favorite of skateboarders around the valley as well as around the world. It enjoys the world’s largest of many skateboarding favorites, including the world’s largest cradle, an outstanding mega ramp, the world’s tallest vertical wall, and the largest full pipe as well as many smooth sections between transition areas. The environment is suitable for all skill levels whether you are an expert or a beginner. The Park also allows BMX Bikes and scooters as well as all types of skating. They also offer party packages, equipment rental, and lessons. Helmets, knee and elbow pads are required and all skaters must sign a liability waiver. Minors under age 17 must have a guardian’s written permission. If you are a college student, and show them your student identification, you get in for free on Fridays before 5pm.
Vans Off The Wall Skatepark
Vans Off The Wall Skatepark is an exceptional skatepark in Huntington Beach, near Los Angeles. It has a really nice bowl for getting that perfect swoosh in and the grounds are kept clean and safe. They are pretty strict about safety so everyone must sign a liability waiver and wear full-on protective gear; helmets, and knee and elbow pads. Also children under age six are not allowed to skate as it’s easy to trip over the little guys. Also no scooters, BMX, wave boards, or Razors are allowed. This is great place to visit and with the beach nearby there is always plenty to see and do while getting in some serious skateboard time.
