Neon “cocktails” sign leading to Midnight Rambler at The Joule
Dallas is packed with local, one-of-a-kind restaurants and bars with deliciously and well-calculated mixed cocktails. If you’re on the hunt for some of the best cocktails in the city, check out a few favorite spots that should absolutely be on your list!
Midnight Rambler
Valet your car complimentary of The Joule downtown and walk through its grand doors. To your left, you will find an electric neon “cocktails” sign just above a lightbulb lit staircase leading to an old-fashioned speakeasy. If you feel like you’re going the wrong way, then you are on your way to boozy bliss at Midnight Rambler.
This mid-century inspired bar has all of the 60s vibes and I am totally here for it! There are cushioned booths, tables and seats at the bar to choose from in a very cozy, low lit setting. There are several drinks to choose from with a “Twine Time!” (aka happy hour) menu with special prices on craft cocktails and CBD Provisions appetizers on Monday-Friday between 5-8PM making it the perfect after-five bar to save your sanity after a long day. Custom cocktails are even an option here.
Our favorite part about this bar? The playlist of 60s hits during early happy hour!

Henry’s Majestic
If you’re looking for unexpected yet delightful flavor, try stopping by Henry’s Majestic for brunch. This spot can get pretty packed on the weekends as it is a hot brunch restaurant on weekends, so be sure to make a reservation, if possible. Henry’s Majestic is excellent if you’re a fan of herbal flavors and innovative mixes.
Our favorite part about this bar? The mimosa bar with several fruit, champagne, juice options and more! There’s even a speakeasy behind the restaurant called Atwater Alley.

The chemist-inspired cocktail bar at The Tipsy Alchemist
The Tipsy Alchemist
Aesthetics at The Tipsy Alchemist in Uptown Dallas are everything! From the cocktail glasses to the menu inspired by the periodic table of elements to the bubbling columns at the bar, it really does feel like you’ve stepped into a chemist’s lab.
At this craft cocktail bar, each drink is given a chemical element “symbol” and ingredients are broken down on the menu into four sections: the spirit, modifier, elements and lengthener. Finding your perfect cocktail at The Tipsy Alchemist is made easy and are served in some of the most fitting ways such as Edison light bulb glasses and coconut cups.
Our favorite part about this bar? The ambiance and overall chemist theme!

Jamaican Mule from The Island Spot in Oak Cliff, Dallas
The Island Spot
Escape to the islands with authentic Jamaican fare and some of the best tropical cocktails in Dallas! The drinks at The Island Spot are a stellar plus to the delicious menu of dishes to choose from. Mama Joyce’s Oxtails is always a winning choice with fried plantains to occupy the table while we wait on the main course, but no dine-in experience at this bar and restaurant is complete without a cocktail (or two) made with the best rums.
This Oak Cliff spot even has happy hour specials on weekdays from 4-7PM, live music on Friday nights, weekend brunches and day parties. Bring on the rum and relax!
Our favorite part about this bar? Flavorful food and drinks —consistently tasty.

Quill
You can expect sophistication at Quill with everything from the ambiance to the food and cocktails. Nestled in the Design District, the interior design is glamorous and clearly well-planned. While there is food available to order, this spot is more of a bar or lounge than a restaurant. If you’re going after work for a low-key cocktail, try Soul Funk Wednesdays or Jazz Jam Sessions on Thursdays. If you’re ready for a full-on bar experience, make plans for Friday and Saturday nights when things tend to get more lively with live DJ sets.
Our favorite part about this bar? It’s totally Instagram-worthy with a super chic Great Gatsby vibe. Plus, the green sofas and chairs are über comfy.
Cocktails to try: Date Night In Rio & Pinada
