Cheers to Summer with This Tropical Blue Sangria

Food and Entertaining

ForRent.com is excited to team up, once again, with Courtney Whitmore of Pizzazzerie as she shows you this delicious drink recipe for those hot summer days!

When I think of summer drinks, I instantly think of fruit, umbrellas, and color, so I wanted to hit all three of these with this easy recipe for Tropical Blue Sangria! I absolutely love entertaining with sangria as my summer drink recipe of choice because it’s refreshing, great for a group, and utilizes seasonal summer fruits.

This sangria has a twist, however! The addition of blue curacao adds a brilliant, tropical blue that just screams “summer vacay.” One of my favorite summer hostess tips is keeping a bottle of blue curacao around to add a dash of “tropical” to lots of cocktails! Your guests will instantly “ooh” and “aah” at the fun presentation.

Slice up your favorite citrus fruits to complement the citrus flavor of the blue curacao. Limes, lemons, and oranges are fabulous additions. You can even keep this sangria in a pitcher in the refrigerator for a couple of days (without the ginger ale – add it just before serving).

Pick up a pack of umbrellas for your drinks to have on hand all summer long! It’s these little touches that add lots of embellishment for a quick and simple summer drink. Add one in and “ta-da” – your drink is colorful and oh so cute!
