With the chilly weather arriving, it’s time to warm up with one of my favorite autumn flavors – apple! Apple cider is the perfect drink to enjoy with friends and family, especially when it is served in an adorable apple cup. I love this idea because the cups are edible…so less dishes for you. Not to mention they’re absolutely charming! Plus, your apartment will be filled with the aromas of fall! I served mine up on a rustic wood board garnished with extra cinnamon sticks for a fall party.
I decided to give the traditional apple cider a citrus twist which gives it an extra punch of flavor from the orange slices. They also add a pretty garnish floating in the apple cups with cinnamon sticks as drink stirrers. Making these apple cups is really easy too! Find the directions and recipe for my citrus apple cider below.
To make the apple cups, simply use a paring knife to make a thin cut where you’d like the rim of your cup. Use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the apple until you reach about ¾ of the way to the bottom of the apple.
You want to be sure you don’t scoop it too thin so the cider doesn’t leak. Brush lemon juice around the rims of your apple cups to prevent them from browning.
