It’s the time of year when we all start trying to eat healthly and make better lifestyle choices. I am a big Coke drinker. It’s true … I love a good soda! Every year, I start off trying to make healthy choices, and I have to say I make better choices than I did as a teenager, but there is always room for improvement. Something I am trying to do this year is making more smoothies to give myself an extra kick of protein and vitamins versus a rush of sugar! So take a step with me this year, and let’s make this strawberry banana orange smoothie together!
This smoothie is a great alternative to sitting down and snacking on something completely unhealthy. I’ve never been a big breakfast person (which I’m told is the most important meal of the day) so I’ve started drinking these bad boys for breakfast.
For this smoothie, the main fruits are strawberries and bananas, though they can easily be substituted for a frozen berry mix or blueberries; it’s really up to you and what you prefer! The good news is that the base can stay the same and you can still make this simple recipe with a few changes. I like to use fresh orange juice because it’s better for you than boxed orange juice, but if you don’t have the time or an orange on hand, it’s totally okay to substitute.
