Whether it’s a birthday or simply a get together, an easy and fun way to celebrate time spent together is with a smoothie bar for you and your friends. With tons of choices to make your own smoothie, each person gets to make their perfect smoothie, and have fun testing new smoothie recipes! Here’s how you can set up a quick and easy smoothie bar in your apartment or dorm room:
Use a paper table cover to dress up a plain table. Having a paper one also allows you to decorate it with pens and write down the different smoothie ingredients or recipes for those who may be new to making their own smoothies. It also makes cleaning up so much quicker and easier and let’s face it, that’s the least exciting part about any party. A quick clean up is a bonus! A nice banner (in this case it’s a chalkboard banner) helps dress up the space even more.
Add your fruits and veggies into different bowls for easy grabbing. Fresh fruits are a plus because they have so much extra flavor, but frozen fruits are especially great if you’re low on ice. Having a mix of both gives you the best of both worlds! If you’re into green smoothies, then be sure to set up some leafy green options for you and your guests. Green smoothies are low in sugar, healthy, and filling!
Peach season starts in April and May on the east coast and June and July in the mid-west, so definitely take advantage of fresh peaches this time of the year!
How can you not add strawberries to your smoothie?! Strawberries provide a sweet and refreshing taste and can be blended with almost any other ingredient.
Blueberries have the least amount of sugar in them out of any fruit or berry, making them the perfect sweet addition to a smoothie if you are extra health conscious. They can also be mixed in with green smoothies, but beware, they will turn green smoothies brown, so don’t judge the book by the cover on this one!
Line up your ingredient bowls in a straight row to help create an assembly line for your party guests. Start out with cups, then the fruit and veggies, then any milks, non-dairy milks, water, and ice, and finally, your blender and straws.
Here’s another way to use a chalkboard banner to help dress up for a special occasion! Dress up your friend’s apartment, bedroom, or dorm door with balloons and add the chalkboard banner! It will be a great surprise and they will definitely love the idea of a smoothie bar to start off their day!
