With college basketball excitement in the air, it’s time to start prepping for your March Madness viewing party! Whether you throw a party for the championship game, final four or sweet 16, you are going to need a fantastic menu, blank bracket sheets and killer favors to pull off a successful gathering. Here are a few tips for hosting the perfect party:
Anticipation Station
It’s never too early to start building hype for your party. Create a Facebook page or email chain dedicated to this year’s March Madness NCAA tournament and begin talking some trash. Chat about upcoming games, future game possibilities and the tournament in general. Provide hints about how epic your championship party is going to be so guests are left with anticipation for the event. This will not only get people talking about your party but also super excited to attend.
Menu Is Everything
If you learn anything from this article, I hope it’s that a good menu equals a good party. The guest list is important, and a good theme is crucial, but the most important aspect of any successful party is fantastic food. To this day, when people talk about my wedding (10 years ago), all they can remember was how delicious the reception dinner was! So when planning your party, make sure you think about your guests and prepare the yummiest menu you know how. Finger foods, appetizers and dips are always a good idea at sports-themed parties.
Leave Them With the Memories
During the party, make sure your guests enjoy great food and have the best time ever, but don’t forget to leave them with a memory of the party to take home. Party favors are a celebratory tradition that should not be overlooked; they help your guests feel appreciated and leave them with a memory of the wonderful time they had. Make sure your party favors fit in with your theme and have a clever or genuine saying or gift that leaves a lasting impression on your guests. For those of you who are throwing a March Madness party, I have done that part for you! I have designed this FREE PRINTABLE “Thank You for Coming to My Party, Hope You Had a Ball” favor tags for you to tie to your memorable gift. I recommend printing them on heavy white cardstock (I like 110-pound) and cutting them out with scissors.
I hope these tips help you throw a successful March Madness viewing party!
