Texans love their beer, and Austin is no exception. With plenty of craft beers to choose from (both from Texas and internationally), it’s a beer-lover’s dream. Here’s a look at several Austin bars to try. We wish we could feature every last one, but we’ve chosen a few favorites to share with you!
Hops & Grain | East Austin
Hops & Grain has a brewery and tap room tucked away in East Austin. Tour the brewery for free on most Fridays at 5PM or Saturdays at 2PM or 4PM or enjoy a cold one in the tap room or on the dog-friendly patio (the brewery also turns spent brewing grains into Brew Biscuit dog treats). Hops & Grains offers seasonal beers like a New Zealand IPA or year-round brews such as River Beer Lager or 78702 (in the style of a traditional German Kolsch).

Craft Pride | Rainey Street
Craft Pride boasts 54 taps and two cask engines of all Texas craft beer from regional breweries. As of this writing, the beer list included a Pearl-Snap Pilsner from Austin Beerworks, a HefeWeiszen from Live Oak Brewing Company and a Coffee Milk Stout from Zilker Brewing Company. This casual beer joint also live music, Monday video game night, Tuesday trivia and other events.

Easy Tiger Bake Shop & Beer Garden | 6th Street
Easy Tiger serves craft beer, whiskey and housemade breads, pretzels and sausages. During happy hour (weekdays 4:30-6:30PM), enjoy select local draft beer and provisions including sausage links or a small pretzel for $3. The beer garden has space indoors and outside, and when temperatures dip to a comfortable level, the green space and twinkling lights of the beer garden offer a delightful slice of Bavaria right in Austin.

Ginger Man | Warehouse District
The Ginger Man is a relaxed beer bar serving dozens of beers, ciders, and wine from Texas and around the world. True aficionados can order a beer flight to sample a variety. The beer garden is back is the perfect spot for groups, and a packed calendar of events keep Ginger Man patrons entertained. Monday night is BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) and Wednesday is trivia night, with an Oktoberfest Kick-off and brewery nights rounding out the calendar.

Waller Creek Pub House | Downtown
Waller Creek Pub House offers thirty rotating beers on tap. As of this writing, the list included Stygian from Idle Vine Brewing in Pflugerville, Texas, London Dry cider from Seattle and Bockslider from Fort Worth, Texas. Beyond Waller Creek’s extensive beer list and scenic patio, it also boasts a varied food menu, including burgers, salads and wraps, and snacks like zucchini fries or white bean hummus with pita and veggies.
