The holidays are upon us, and it’s the season to give! There is nothing more exciting than finding that perfect gift for your loved one. Gift wrapping, well that is another story. It can be so time consuming and tedious. Especially if Santa wraps every present when he comes to your house. I have found a few tips and tricks to making wrapping a breeze and actually enjoyable. In addition, I’ve added a free gift wrap printable to help get you excited to wrap all your gifts. But first, the tips!
Pick A Color Scheme
I’ve found that when I plan out my Christmas wrapping in advance, holiday wrapping goes so much more smoothly and I don’t spend as much money on wrapping paper and trimmings as I normally would last minute. I choose one color scheme for the holiday and purchase a few rolls of wrapping paper, a bunch of bows and ribbon in those colors. That way, I am ready to wrap as presents are purchased, and if I need to wrap a handful of gifts going to one person, they will all match. It also helps me from being tempted at the store to purchase more gift wrap than I need, because we all know that shiny wrapping paper is SUPER tempting. No, it really is.
Don’t Scrimp On The Wrapping Paper
I am totally guilty of saying, “this roll of wrapping paper is twelve bucks….no way!” and turn to purchase the $2.00 thin, scrawny rolls. I bring that cheap wrapping paper home and it wraps a whole one gift. The expensive roll of paper is always, always worth it. It wraps oodles of gifts and typically lasts the whole season. Plus the paper is thick, shiny and wraps fabulously. I usually buy two or three and it covers all my wrapping needs for the holiday.
It’s All About The Trimmings
So wrapping paper is gorgeous and fun, but it’s the trimmings that really give the gift the ‘wow’ factor. I love bows and ribbon as much as the next gal, but this year I’m all about the printable garnishes. Below are a few examples of printable poinsettias and hollys that I’ve used to spruce up kraft paper boxes and bags. They are super easy to print and use. You download, print, cut and attach to your gift with double sided-tape. They help the present ‘pop’ and give the gift a warm homemade feel. I thought you may like to replicate this idea and am offering these trimmings as a free download.
