one does not simply walk into Mordor.. I mean Montecito.
This unfortunate apartment became my "home" after relocating. There were some issues since move-in, and it has gone so downhill from an already pretty low bar.
When I first moved in, I'd say it def had some of the issues you'll read below, but things changed gradually then suddenly.
Let's start with the main issue - management. Horrible at getting back to you or maintaining the property. RE: laundry from washing machines that very well may have endured out of utter spite from 90's & floods... consistently.
Months can actually go by for a fix and still waiting. They mistake showing patience for "hope they'll forget", I guess.
Speaking of broken things - anything from their appliances to pretty major water leaks that get left to mold or problems with bugs, etc.
They even paint the tiled counters so inevitably no matter how natural of cleaners you use (and I do), it will start to bubble and get holes in it and just seems ick.
If you enjoy having neighbours in a neighbourhood with 0 sense of apt living 101 considerations who will steal your packages, break into cars (which mgt is quick to point out their notices of 0 responsibility about and not even say hey sorry?), walls rattling from loud booming bass, air thick w/smoker grill flowing smoke directly into your place, all day night long stomping/moving noise like overly caffeinated elephants, you're about to exist in a special paradise.
Hope you like the AM. They'll have these loud diesel blowers come by to blow debris around so you can look forward to that wake up call.
When you try to exit the parking lot out onto Victory, it's a game of frogger with pedestrian and car traffic to get out. The lot's not great design and many issues with the ancient gate door.
People would dump their disgusting, dirty mop water all down their balcony which would sploosh right where ground floor people's doorsteps and walking area are.
As for me, not my first apt exp. I'm not going to kick up a fuss over 1 night of noise or one-off mishap type "Karen" scenario here.
Seems innocuous from the outside, maybe even decent enough for what you can do. But just like an onion, peel the layers of superficial apt polish away, and you've got a rotten core. This place needs serious help to get back to anywhere remotely decent to exist in the long term.
