Questionable rule guidelines
Went to the pool earlier with my roommate. Nothing out of the ordinary- I was wearing the same type of clothing I always do. Hadn't even been in 5 minutes when a woman (presumably management), approaches me and says, "Sir you're going to have to get out of the pool. You can't be in there in underwear." I was taken aback for a moment because I was clearly not in underwear but a pair of shorts. I address this and she proceeds to tells me, "you can't be in the pool in street clothes. You're going... to have to get out."
Now that would be fine, but I must have missed the thin-lined rules at the bottom that allows you to pick and choose what rules to follow because as my roommate and and I were leaving, there were two children alone in the pool (appeared to be around the ages of 6-7), when one of the rules states, in big, bold letters, "children ages 14 and under must be accompanied (or supervised, don't remember exactly how it's worded), in the pool" when the 'supervision' for these children were sitting on benches outside of the pool area looking at their phones.
As my roommate stated, one of the women tasked with supervising the children were one of the ones who reported me to management- evidently they're allowed to break rules but nobody else can.
So, a word for the wise: leaving young children alone and unsupervised in a pool is a-okay, but wearing shorts in the pool that mimic swim trunks in every single manner aside from the inner-lining is an absolute no-go.
The complex has been great aside from that. No other complaints from me. Clean buildings with no crime. Just can't bump my rating up in higher after today's experience.
