Unresponsive management a dealbreaker
I would not recommend this “luxury” apartment building due to several reasons, but the deal breaker for us is the lack of response and inaction from management (Comstock) regarding the daily noise resulting from the cleaners taking out the trash, which wakes us up at 7am every day, due to the thin apartment walls (my partner and I are heavy sleepers fyi).
We have reached out to management more than 3 times over the span of 2+ months on the issue and they say that they are unable to change the... cleaners’ schedule or they ignore our e-mails. This isn’t an experience unique to us, but several of our neighbors have also had similar issues with unresponsive management. For the “luxury apartment” rent prices we pay, this is not acceptable.
Additionally, the management’s lack of response does not apply to just this issue, but several issues as well below that are still pending unresolved after 2+ months.
· Ethernet ports: One of our Ethernet ports was wired up incorrectly and fails to work (tested with a cable tester). Unfortunately, this causes us to put our wifi router in a suboptimal location, so we don't get a strong signal everywhere in the apartment, most notably the bedroom.
· AC flow: Our floor plan has an elongated hallway that leads to the bedroom and the air pressure from the HVAC system is not enough to push the cold/hot air to the bedroom. This causes the bedroom to have a very different temperature from the rest of the apartment. The den, which is closest to the entry and the thermometer/control panel, can often be ten degrees cooler than the bedroom (in the summer).
I would also not recommend this “luxury” apartment for other reasons, of which include poor (attention to small details). At first glance, the apartment fixings look good however upon further examination, you will see shoddy details from cabinets that do not completely close all the way, to misaligned cabinets, faucets whose water pours are not centered, etc.
While some things are not that bothersome, there are other things that do impact apartment living. For example, the locked door between the garage and the apartments often fails to unlock, sometimes the gate to the garage fails to open despite the parking tag successfully scanning, and some of the handles to the locking doors are hot to the touch, due to an electrical short. Would not recommend.
