Do not move here

The only pro of this property is location. Let’s open the con list:
1) Maintenance is beyond poor. You have to call multiple times to get anything done.
2) The management is an extortion racket. I lost my access fob a week before all the doors went automatic (app operated). They still charged me 75$ for a new fob which I only needed for 2 weeks.
3) Rent increase is exorbitant for the service provided.
4) They are doing some kinda building renovation and currently I have a construction worker...
right outside my bedroom window playing music. It’s a Saturday and I am recovering from Covid, so I could use some rest. These activities can be done on a weekday.
5) Fire alarm is way too sensitive. It goes off whenever I use the stove or the oven.
6) There are false building-wide fire alarms a few times every month. It’s happened in the middle of the night 2 times in last few months.
7) The AC can either be set to Heating or Cooling. So you have this period in Fall and Spring when the apartment will be super hot.
8) Paper thin walls, no noise isolation.
9) Trash room area is extremely smelly and poorly maintained.
10) Some mornings there’s a smell of vomit in the staircases.

I feel with the sharp rent increase I am paying way too much to have to deal with these issues.
Pay that 200$ extra to find another apartment. This is not worth the money.

Horrible management

The only pro to this apartment complex is the location but that is the only positive. The amenities are below average and half of the “amenities” they provide do not work or are broken (pool table has broken/missing prices, grills in courtyard don’t work, hot tub was cold). Dealing with the management team at this complex was an absolute NIGHTMARE and I cannot emphasize more how frustrating it had been living in this apartment complex. We lived here for a year and had issues as soon as we moved... in with them losing our initial money order for first months rent and telling us it was on us and there was nothing they could do. After MONTHS and reaching out to corporate, we finally got everything resolved. After our lease was ending, we were moving to a different apartment within the complex. We found an apartment that worked out well, applied, were approved and had a fully signed lease. I then found out from Washington gas that the current tenant was not leaving. The apartment complex notified me a “mistake” had been made and that apartment was never available. We had emailed them several times with no response and even with a fully signed and executed lease, they did NOTHING to rectify this issue despite a binding contract. They told us there was another apartment in the same floor plan available but it was almost $1000 more a month than what we signed a lease for and they refused to price match what we signed a lease for. And now several months later, that same exact apartment they refused to price match is still available for even less than what we were asking for. We even toured and talked to other complexes in the area and they could not believe they did not price match what we signed for. They do not care about anyone or their tenants whatsoever. When you look at all of the negative reviews of this complex you will see a generic response telling you to contact them regarding your issue, however they will continue to completely ignore you and will not help you in anyway shape or form. “customer service is the most important thing we do” they wrote in response to a review but considering they can’t even follow through to a contract, this is not the case. Also the majority of positive reviews are people who have just toured or just moved in, and the negative reviews are people who have actually lived here. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else there are many apartment complexes in the area

Good location, paperthin walls, bad management

I lived in these apartments for two years, and in that time management changed three times. Alliegent-Carter is by far the worst. They are difficult to get ahold of, terrible at proactive communication and simply don't seem to care. Over the Christmas Holiday the fire alarm went off four times, yet there was never an explanation why. When we moved out, they mailed our security deposit to our old address... the apartment we moved out of. When we rented the community room, we confirmed the... reservation THREE times with management and still were told we needed to reserve it when we were setting to up the event.

The apartment itself was nice, spacious, and well laid out, but we could hear everything happening above us, which included music at 9am and children running around. The oven was unusable without setting the fire alarm off.

The apartments weren't very secure either, I could name three different places where you didn't need a fob to get in, and sometimes people would sleep in the stairwell.

It was an easy walk to Twinbrook at least.

Good location, fair facilities, poor operation

I have lived here for almost 3 years, but I wish to rate with minus 5 stars. The location is good. Facilities are fair. Operation is horrible, especially the leasing team. Although maintenance requests will be submitted online, it is luck that they come in a timely manner, but still it is manageable.
The worst thing is the leasing team. Basically, you cannot reach the leasing office. Emails are never responded, you can only leave a message by phone, and calls are never returned. When I tried to...
visit their office in person to speak with them, I was told I could not meet with them because I did not have an appointment, and when I asked how to make an appointment, I was told to make an appointment via email. How am I supposed to make an appointment via email with someone who never returns my emails? I spent several months in this situation when my lease contract was up for renewal, with being ignored for more than several months even after the existing lease was expired. I needed to spend a few months without a valid contract. Since a valid lease contract serves as proof of residency, this often leads to all sorts of inconveniences for foreigners like me. Of course, they did not listen to such claims at all.
Even after I finally moved out of the residence, they continued to charge me additional fee that they had once confirmed were unnecessary. I countered with evidence that they had confirmed they did not need the fee, but they would not apologize for their carelessness or revise their charges. I am attempting to approach their upper management regarding this matter.
As stated above, the leasing team is lazy, careless and lacks minimal respect for the residents. However, other than these factors, the location is good and the facilities are fair. I will try to convince myself that this one star is for those other factors.
By the way, It seems odd to me that since the management company changed, there has been a rapid increase in positive reviews, even though the service has been downgraded.

Save yourself from the headache

Please don’t waste your time here. If I could give this place a half a star I would. The ONLY “perk” about living here is the location. That’s. It. Management is awful. No way or form of contacting the management office of any issues. All calls go to straight to an outside office and yet the supposed phone number to call to the management office does not work. Absolutely no outdoor parking or else your car will get towed (and trust me they will tow your car). Parking directly in front of the... apartment will get your car towed. You have to pay for visitors parking (PER DAY) which I find so outrageous for what rent is. Parking in the garage is $65 a month with an additional $25 if you have 2 cars. Fire alarms are constantly going off so be ready to see the fire trucks at least 1-2x’s during the week (I truly wish I was kidding). The “mailroom” is a complete disaster. There is absolutely no such thing as organization so good luck going through everyone’s mail trying to find your package. There is absolutely no maintenance or upkeep to these apartments, everything is falling apart yet you get ridiculous “fees” added each month to your rent. Do yourself a favor and save yourself from the headache I personally went through living here.
