BEWARE!!!
The management here should be ashamed of themselves! They are doing renovations to this building, which is actually a great thing because the building is dated, HOWEVER the way they are treating the current residents is disgraceful. I visited yesterday and some of the seniors were crying out front, taking trash from the trash rooms, or milling around talking to each other saying they are confused. They are being displaced to homes they've never seen, that aren't the same size so they don't... know where their furniture is going and the office has been no help. My grandmother (who has dementia) is moving to a unit that is so much smaller than her current unit, they offered to move some of her furniture to a shipping yard in Baltimore - but she was instructed she has to be sure about what she wants going there because she will not have access to it for at least three months. The unit she is assigned to is not and cannot be wired for internet, which we use for her to watch TV and any caregiver to use for connectivity while working there. While visiting yesterday, some of the residents told me the movers don't speak English, so they can't communicate where they want their stuff to go and no one has even come to personally explain this process. They all just received a letter telling them their move date - and at BEST they were given two weeks notice (although many were given less notice than that). It's DISGUSTING. If my grandmother's dementia was not as advanced as it is, I would move her. But she's at a stage where unfamiliar places can disorient her. The move to another unit in this building is going to be stressful enough. BEWARE if you're thinking of moving here!!!!!
