Good place, comfortable space

These townhomes are very comfortable. The houses are well insulated and hold heat well in the winter and stay cool in the summer. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, which is very nice, especially for career focused individuals.

The maintenance man is very kind and quick to handle issues you may have. The property manager Heather is responsive and helpful. She quickly answers any questions you have, and is always working to make sure you feel accommodated, even when she has a very busy...
week. She is very empathetic and understanding. You can tell she is a genuinely good person, and she’s good at her job.

A few things that made me only give 3 stars (relatively minor, and mostly stood out to me because of what you pay to live here):

The sprinklers go off constantly in the summer. There are a lot of them, some of which are positioned so that your driveway is a direct target in addition to the lawn so your car will constantly have hard water spots on it if you park outside the garage. Depending which home you get, standing water even collects in the driveway, making parking limited unless you want to stand ankle deep in water getting in and out of the car.

Your garbage cans have to be inside your garage at all times except the small window of garbage day. The purpose of this is due to how windy it gets, which is understandable; it does get very windy. But keeping the garbage cans inside the garage will make the interior of your vehicle, and your garage as a whole, smell like garbage. Sometimes, depending on what kind of garbage week you had, it can make the downstairs of the unit smell when you open the garage door. Considering the appeal of a garage is to keep your car stored there, and the price you pay to have a garage as an amenity, you’d think you’d have the additional option to store the garbage elsewhere if needed.

Overall, I’m glad we live here, and for us the pros outweigh the cons at this time.

Perfect for my needs

The unit itself is well taken care of and there is usually a 24-48 hour wait for maintenance needs which is more than reasonable. The rules are fair and with good reasons and the property management tries to keep the area looking nice for the tenants. The landlord has always been kind and pleasant to communicate with and the other people living in the area are nice too. It has a bus route near it, it's close enough to the target and cashwise if I need things but is also farther away from the... center of the city.

Declining community

The townhomes, while aesthetically pleasing, seem to be priced slightly higher than the average for the St. Cloud area. They are situated adjacent to an apartment complex, and the neighborhood has experienced some incidents of car break-ins in recent years. Additionally, there was a recent shooting within a mile of the location, and several shootings just across the bridge. Another concern is the proximity of a prison about 1.5 miles away.

The maintenance service for Liberty Glen is notably...
slow, and the roads aren't adequately plowed and salted in the winter months. The community faces noise disturbances from 7 a.m. to as late as 9 p.m. during spring and summer due to ongoing landscaping and construction activities on the property. Surprisingly, rather than compensating residents for the inconvenience caused by the construction noise, tenants experienced a $300-$500 rent increase in 2023. Tenants also started being charged extra fees for making rent and other payments online.

Looking ahead to 2024, potential residents should be aware that the road to the University will be closed for repaving during warmer months, causing probable traffic congestion and bus reroutes, similar to the inconveniences experienced in 2022. This was once a nice community; however, more than half of our long-term neighbors have left Liberty Glen within the past year. Considering the current state of the area, with a perceived rise in crime, I cannot recommend these townhomes. There are more budget-friendly options available in safer and more desirable areas, such as Sauk Rapids and St. Joseph.
