Solid Staff, Solid Building!
I want to start by saying I'm always dismayed that the only people who write reviews are the ones who have had a bad experience and seem focused on spreading negativity.
I lived at Riva Ridge for a year and I have to say that I was really impressed with the experience! Rose, the property manager, was extremely professional and she ran the building quite well. She always seemed to be "on the move" to make improvements. For example, in the time I lived there I saw her: ordering repairs for pot... holes in the parking lot, making sure the lounge and halls were prodigiously clean, and even polling residents about whether or not we should replace the volleyball court with a community garden! These cool things don't go unnoticed! She always greeted me by name when she saw me and gave plenty of notice whenever they needed to do an inspection.
Granted, there's nothing too fancy about Riva Ridge (it's an older building) but the staff are really on top of things and my unit was in very solid condition from the day I moved in. The caretaker was meticulous (even the garbage room smelled nice!), and Maintenance was prompt and thorough (I don't think I ever waited more than 24 hours for a work order). They've got a great team.
I felt very safe living at Riva Ridge and, aside from the occasional horn from a train that rolls through downtown Shakopee in the evening, the building was nice and quiet. I also found that there's a lot within walking distance! If you're looking for a place to stay in Shakopee, I highly recommend Riva Ridge!
