NEVER AGAIN
The maintenance is one of the WORST things about these people!
You have to ask constantly for a week before they'll actually do anything, and that's if you're lucky.
They don't uphold the pet policy, which lead to me being jumped on by a neighbor's large dog and hitting my head on the wall in the NARROW hallways. Tried to talk to the landlord, and they said that it was a "service dog", so their hands were tied. Bull. And while their policy says you can only have one pet (cat/dog) our neighbor... has three animals roaming their apartment, in full view. The landlord doesn't care about that. They prefer bullying disabled tenants.
There's been faulty wiring in our bathroom for over a year and they've never done anything about it. Now the light won't even turn on.
Note: They /finally/ agreed to fix it, when doing an inspection before we moved out. It still took a week for anyone to come by, despite this being a code violation that went on for months and could've lead to a lawsuit had someone been injured.
You aren't allowed to tell your neighbors if they're being a pain in the butt (loud music, barking dogs, screaming fights), but the landlord won't do squat if you tell them about it. Oh yeah, and you get in trouble if you call the cops.
You have to get a parking permit or else you'll get towed. Landlord has never once enforced this.
Their maintenance van parks horribly (taking up two spaces, often one that is for handicapped persons) and has a habit of blocking the entrance (not only dangerous, but it's illegal).
We got the lease renewal earlier this week. Then, two days later, we got a note saying they wouldn't be renewing our lease.
So we had just over a month to get out. With a cat, and me not being able to work. Thanks, Ridge Hollow. You're the best... You definitely won't become one of my horror stories...
UPDATE: We moved out over a month and a half ago. We were told any cleaning they needed to do would be paid for with our security deposit. Apparently, now, they're trying to send us a bill for the full cleaning. My fiance paid $250 when he moved in. I paid another $141 when we got a cat. When we got the cat, we were told the deposit went to replacing the carpet and having allergens removed. They're now saying we have a $160 credit toward to cleaning and "repairs", and owe over $200... They sent a COLLECTION AGENCY after us instead of sending us a bill.
Know that we'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau tomorrow morning.
