How Is This Rating Determined?

We love our new home at Apple Creek!

I would disagree with the overall 2.9 rating Apple Creek currently has. Overall I give them a high 4.0-4.5. The complex was built in 1986, almost 40 years ago, so unless you're lucky enough to get into one of the updated 'Deluxe' units (which I wasn't as they're high in demand & not vacant often) the only option available is the standard non-remodeled unit. Which are quite out-dated. That being said, even the older units are cozy & comfortable despite the outdated finishes. Where Apple Creek... really excels is the amazing & prompt service & response from management & maintenance for any reason. Typically within 1-2 days. Most of all however, is the stunning indoor pool & Jacuzzi, Amazon locker/mail room (no need to worry about anyone stealing your packages or being misdelivered - if either occurs Amazon C/S promptly tracks missing package & either sends new item or credits you immediately) Additionally, the Millard school district is excellent, numerous choices for shopping, groceries & restaurants are fantastic.
*PROS: Excellent school district, polite & friendly staff/residents, close to all, amazing indoor pool, Jacuzzi & gym, maintenance response incredibly quickly if needed, 1-2 days at most, then leaves a card on your counter & sends email stating what was completed, cozy fireplace & huge balcony in every unit, very pet-friendly with an adorable enclosed pet play area.
*CONS: The older units are extremely outdated. Which isn't an issue if you don't mind making small upgrades as I did. I replaced my kitchen faucet & bathroom showerheads & maintenance installed free of charge. They also replaced the 1980's unreadable thermostat to a digital one free of charge. The size of unit is a bit small. I had to return the dinette set I purchased from lack of space. Parking is challenging most days, but #1 is access to the indoor pool/Jacuzzi. It is only available during 'office hours' M-S, but management changes that at their discretion. Before moving in I was told access was to be changed via resident key fobs but that still hasn't been approved. Lastly, in addition to your rent each month you are also responsible for water, trash & sewage each month.

Smoking and bed bugs!

The absolute worst experience of my life living in these apartments and dealing with the absolutely horrible staff! There’s a reason why the reviews are so negative on here and Applecreek apartments will do everything possible to make your stay a living nightmare. I don’t even know where to start with all of this BS I have put up with. First off they moved me into a building that allows smoking after I told them that I have a lung disease. They never once disclosed that there is smoking allowed... in the buildings. The only option they gave me was to move out. After I showed them their contract that clearly states there is no smoking allowed they decided that I could move into a smoke free building. Once you would think that’s solved the filthy neighbors apartment gets infested with bed bugs and instead of kicking the dirty people out or making them clean up after themselves they tell everyone in the building it’s their responsibility to either clean it up or move. Now I wake up this morning and my thermostat is out and not working. I call and leave a voicemail only for it to go ignored. Wait an hour and half and call back only to get greeted by the nasty rude staff and have them basically tell me that they were an hour late to work and it’s my problem the heater has been running all night and running up my bill. They said they sent maintenance over as well but they clearly didn’t because the heater was still running. I’m sure this is only the beginning of my hassles with this issue as well. A simple thermostat that could be changed out in 10 minutes turns into an entire ordeal and process with these people and it always ends up with the tenant upset. All in all, these people could absolutely care less about people and their main thing is to get you to sign that lease as soon as possible so they can get your money, have you leave because of their mismanagement and horrible facilities, and then bring in the next sucker to get their money and keep the process rolling.

Great place to live!

I have lived in Apple Creek Apartments since early 2018 (6 years). Great indoor pool, hot tub, packages delivered to individual lockers to be kept safe, 24 hr locked mailroom, friendly and respectful maintenance staff, responsive and knowledgable office staff, 24 hr gym, recycling picked up weekly at your door, security company that roves randomly at night so no potential criminals can plan around their arrival, dog park, playground, close to excellent schools, close to shopping, restaurants,... and entertainment. Pets allowed, and washers and dryers are included. Excellent manager actively upkeeps property: new siding, cracked sidewalk squares replaced, cement under stairs replaced, terrace walls replaced, holes and cracks in parking lot properly filled with concrete, new staff member recently hired to do landscaping, new railings installed. The only downside is that that the buildings are old and you can hear your neighbors if you live on the first or second floor. If you have quiet neighbors with quiet pets, or if you live on the third floor, it's the perfect place to live! (I have lived on the second floor and I now live on the third floor). Some additional things to know: up to 4 people can live in a two bedroom apartment, and up to 2 people can live in a one bedroom apartment. Also, there are income limits when applying. Potential new residents must make above a certain amount and under a certain amount to live here, due to the stipulations of a bond that was used to build the apartments. The staff are very good about accepting applicants of all ages, ethnicities, etc. You can also build your credit when you pay your rent on time with the different apps they offer for you to pay your rent. I love living here, and I recommend it to everyone!
