The Brownstones at Englewood South Apartments

My apartment is not what I was told it would look like except the kitchen cabinets. Showing a model home and getting something different is insane. The building is run down in aesthetics. For example the walls by the elevator are all dirty and marked up. The stairwell is so dirty where no one has painted the walls for years. Hallway carpets all stained. Garbage room walls and chutes all look run down. No “speed sign” in the garage so cars drive so fast where a driver almost hit myself and my dog... getting to the dog park. Brownstone is amazing and leasing office is so kind. I love the neighborhood and facilities of here brownstone. Everything is convenient and lovely.

I give the community 5 stars due to the great staff of the leasing office and maintenance staff.

The apartment/townhouses would be a 4 rating as there are areas that could be improved, such as the carpet, would absolutely love and need a bigger pool. The pool is too small especially when the adults are trying to enjoy the pool among the numerous children present. Overall the pool is too small to accommodate the amount of residents.

The community and apartments seem nice at a glance but these apartments are far from luxury even though the rent prices are pretty high. All materials and fixtures used are very cheap and fall apart and breakdown frequently. The maintenance team cannot keep up with all the issues of the apartments and repairs are painfully slow. The apartments are also poorly insulated and electricity bill is always high. The street adjacent to the building, Nordhoff place is rather quiet on the weekends but... during the weekdays, there is surprisingly high traffic including large trucks. If you work remotely, it will drive you insane if you have an apartment that face Nordhoff. I really hate living here and cannot wait to move out. Read More
