Poorly Managed Building with horrible upkeep
I have lived at Grove Pointed for 11 months and the issues to my apartment have been on-going with no resolution in site. Here's a list of everything wrong with the apartment 'so far':
Windows
Gaps in the windows that cause my apartment to have a temperature in the low 50's if the heater isn't running 24/7. There have been 6 'repair attempts' with the most recent requiring parts that are out of stock. Meanwhile, I am having to run the heat on the highest setting 24/7 just to keep the... apartment inhabitable. This issue has been ongoing for 4 months and has yet to be resolved.
Washer/Dryer
The unit creates grey lint by the pound since I first moved in & I must vacuum my bathroom after each use. The unit has been serviced 4 times and finally replaced with a new unit. The new unit was connected and I was advised that a GE technician was needed in order to 'reset' the dryer as it was not turning on. This issue has been ongoing for 9 months and has yet to be resolved.
Dishwasher
There have been 6 service calls and it continues to work improperly. Prior to replacement, it was discovered that the water main for the dishwasher was corroded and needed to be replaced. This would require a water shutdown so they can replace the drain valve and subsequently replace the dishwasher. This issue has been ongoing for 9 months and is yet to be resolved.
Water issues
We have had 17 water shutdowns lasting more than 8 hours in the past 10 months. The water shutdowns are 'usually' advised the evening prior to the shutdown and a timeframe is provided. The timeframe is RARELY adhered to and begins, at times, hours before, so planning your water use during a pandemic and working from home is impossible. Once water is restored, you need to run the water for up to 2 hours in order to get the sediment and color out of the water before use. This issue is ongoing and looks like they will need to facilitate another shutdown to install the new dishwasher.
Elevator Issues
Elevators will shut down without notice for months at a time. Sporadically, you'll receive notice that the elevator is being 'refreshed' and no timeline will be communicated. We just got Elevator #2 back in service after 2 months. This building has 4 elevators and about 500 units. Weekends are EXTREMELY tough as move-outs reserve elevators for hours at a time AND we currently have a 3 person max per elevator due to Covid. This issue is ongoing.
