Terrible

The green space is always a mud pit - no matter what season. The parking lots are always icy in the winter, and barely plowed. Heat might be included, but is almost impossible to get it to maintain temperature, and the thermostat doesn't match the actual temperature. Walls and ceilings are paper thin and you can hear every noise. Parking is atrocious, and you can barely ever get a spot in front of your building. Management is slow to respond, unless they think you've done something wrong, then... they will contact you immediately. Only positive is that maintenance is nice.

Awful Experience.

I highly recommend NOT leasing from Parklane apartments. While I am a current resident I’m using a different name because I don’t want this to come back to me. Our apartment has had multiple issues with appliances not working properly, and every single time maintenance was called, they tell us “well it’s not broken so it’s fine”. They raise rent with zero improvements to apartments (I do understand prices go up, but at least make it worth the while). I am currently having an issue with bugs... (flies to be exact) and I haven’t even bothered calling because nothing ever gets done. The parking situation is absolutely horrendous with having 3 buildings sharing one lot essentially. There isn’t even enough parking for two buildings with one car per apartment let alone the usual apartment having two cars.
The parking lots in the winter are usually an ice sheet and I have had multiple issues with my husband and I falling in the parking lot because of it. I have honestly very few good things to say about Parklane.
Multiple people in my building have had issues with their electric bills being astronomically high (usage, just just dollar amount) and there have been complaints made (from what the tenants in the building said at least) without even an acknowledgment back that something is quite obviously malfunctioning. A 2 bedroom 850 square foot apartment shouldn’t have a usage reading as over 1500 but they never even attempted to find an issue.
I have put in multiple complaints about a neighbor across the hall from us putting his garbage in the hallway for extended period of times, constantly yelling on the top of his lungs, slamming the doors at all times of the day, smoking enough cigarettes for the entire apartment building to smell like smoke and having his tv blaring at all times of day to where it can be heard through our apartment doors and nothing has ever been done. But they will make sure to email you and call you perfectly fine all within a day if a payment is late by even a day past the grace period.
Maintenance is a joke, the office staff is basically useless. I’ll most likely be leaving when my lease is up in a few months for an apartment that is actually kept up with and has competent workers.

Poor Management and Leaky Apartments

Our apartment maintained several serious leaks in the living room during the November storm of 2022 (unfortunately, there is no option to paste or attach pictures to a review). We called management and maintenance 5 times to have the problem addressed and were told that all workers were busy "shoveling snow". While the maintenance crew was very kind and helpful, management essentially tried to ignore the issue and became hostile when informed that the apartment was uninhabitable. When... maintenance came, they verified the severity of the leak, and my wife and I had to find alternative living arrangements for ourselves and our cats.

My wife and I spent 12 nights outside of the apartment. The issue did not appear to be a big deal for management since maintenance did not commence until 1 week AFTER we had left the apartment.

Management claimed to reimburse us for half of the month that we were not in the apartment, but they miscalculated and tried to give us 40% rent back (later adjusted to 50% when we informed them of their mistake). They did NOT reimburse us for:
-time off work
-items spent to handle the leak (buckets, plastic covers for couches, towels to clean up water, etc.)
-additional driving time due to relocation
-industrial fan running 24/7, placed by their own employees, for one week to dry the apartment (electricity costs are NOT covered in the rental agreement)
-12 nights outside of the apartment (equivalent to approximately $1000 in hotel costs)

My wife and I argued for the full month reimbursement but were denied. Communication with management averaged 1 response per week, and required reminder emails to get a response. It has been 2 months since the incident, and we still have not received the credit we were promised for the time we were outside of the apartment.

Also, this was not the first leak we have had. We contacted management about a leak in the summer of 2022 above the stove. Furthermore, the neighbor informed us that the apartment had leaked in the same location previously, and had entered into the room below the living room. It is very discouraging that management would rent out an apartment while being aware that the structural integrity of the building may not be sound. From the reviews that I have read, it appears that the quality of the apartments is a common complaint.

Poor maintenance and management

During the winter the parking lots are barely kept up with. There’s constantly at least 4 inches of driven over snow in the roadways to the parking lots, it gets icy and I only see salt put down in front of the common doors, multiple times I had called maintenance because of a refrigerator issue (food not staying cold/frozen) and I was told it was fine, the food I lost wasn’t replaced and had the issue yet again. Management doesn’t respond to inquires but will make sure to hound you if you are... 2/3 days late on your rent. Do not recommend these apartments at all. Every year the rent goes up yet nothing has been shown for it. No updates to the apartments or nothing while I lived there and it was for 4 years.

Loud and Cheap

The walls are paper thin, you will hear everything from every unit around you at all hours of the day and night. The parking lots and areas around the buildings are poorly kept. The washing machines will constantly break. Not worth the constant frustrations.
