This will be my third year living at Skyhouse and I love it. In a very walkable neighborhood, central to everything happening downtown and short drive to anything in Salt Lake City. The apartment complex is very secure and quiet. Such a great place to live!

Luxury Living with Unbeatable Views!
I’ve had a great experience living at Skyhouse! The rooftop lounge is definitely the highlight — the views of downtown SLC and the mountains are unbeatable. The building is modern and clean, and the amenities (gym, resident lounge, rooftop BBQs) are always well-maintained. The location is super convenient with easy access to TRAX and downtown. Staff has been responsive and helpful whenever I’ve needed anything. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxury-style apartment with great vibes.

Terrible Apartment Complex
When I moved in, the apartment was dirty, despite being told a deep cleaning was done between tenants, which was clearly not true. I spent hours cleaning what should have already been done. Additionally, the dishwasher, water heater, and HVAC system had recurring issues that took multiple attempts to fix.
The issues didn't stop there though. There were electrical problems: circuit breakers randomly tripped, even though the same devices were always plugged in. Maintenance shrugged it off and... said, “That’s just how these apartments are.” Several other tenants I spoke with experienced the same issue, and even the breaker for the gym's treadmills tripped at one point, causing the treadmills to not be functional. There were also multiple building-wide power outages that management blamed on the power company, though I was never convinced that was the full story.
I also had issues with the smoke alarm in my apartment. It went off while cooking simple meals. Maintenance dismissed my concerns, saying it was because the apartment was a small space. I later discovered the bedroom smoke alarm was defective and that closing the door prevented false alarms. I requested multiple times for maintenance to replace the battery and they claimed they would but never did, even after 2 or 3 reminders. By the time I moved out, it had never been fixed.
I left the apartment in clean, good condition upon move-out, yet I was charged excessive fees. When I requested details, the property manager, Derrick, was vague and unhelpful. After multiple requests for photos, I was finally provided with images showing normal wear and tear on the walls, and even pre-existing marks left by the previous tenant, which I had noted in my move-in sheet. Despite this, Derrick still insisted it was beyond normal wear and tear to justify the charges. I was also charged a mandatory carpet cleaning fee that Derrick initially claimed every tenant must pay. After I pointed out that this was NOT in the lease, he changed his justification, saying it was due to odor and water spots, despite never providing evidence of this.
For the high price of these apartments, you can find far better options elsewhere. Even in older, non-luxury buildings, I’ve never encountered this many problems or this level of poor management.
If you choose to live here, document EVERYTHING—especially move-in and move-out conditions—because management will charge you for anything they can, even normal wear and tear.
