South Pointe Landing

These apartments are awful. Maintenence never fixes anything yet they increase the rent. Paint is peeling everywhere. They paint the bathtub so guess what happens after a couple months... it peels again then clogs the drain and is a hazard when you have a small child to bathe. There are leaks in both of our sinks..maintenance has been called at least 25-30 times to fix the issue. No one came. It took Calling the new manager who lives all the way in new York to get someone to come 2 weeks later.… ...then when someone did come they said they were going to get tools to fix the issue and just left and never came back. We still have 2 leaking sinks 2 weeks later. The pool hasn't been usable since maybe 2016. The hallways have broken steps. No one is ever in the office. The apartments are very secluded so you will have a hard time getting anywhere if you don't have a car unless you want to walk in the highway. Not to mention the signal is terrible once you go outside of your apartment building and it's a must that you have wifi inside your house. This is my first time writing a review about an apartment, but i have to warn people about this place.

1- Roaches are everywhere !!!!!!
2- Maintenance has no respect. They would come in without even knocking on the door.
3- Drug dealing, and shootings are a norm in this place

My apartment was supposed to be livable in, when I moved in. Instead it was completely infested with roaches. Pest control did nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I found my own concoction, and that HELPED. Helped as in, all I saw was 1-2 a day, instead of the DOZENS AND DOZENS I saw in a day. This summer came around and my concoction didn't work anymore. Pest control came back, but even though they don't help, the complex doesn't change what company they use, so OFCOURSE no help, again. At the pool,… talking to strangers, apparently the roach problem is spread across the ENTIRE complex. And, no, pest control doesn't help. It takes hours to move all about u things around for pest control to come and just do nothing. Then it takes even longer to put all your things back. Someone told me it wasn't long ago that the complex had a bed bug outbreak as well! I can't sleep at night. I'm up til 5 am in the morning, because they're crawling into bed with me, and walking on the walls above my pillows, and you worry about your children sleeping in the other rooms.

There are so many stray cats. I don't mind cats, but I feel awful for them, hanging out near the dumpsters and the homes of those who give them scraps.

The people in the office don't care about you. If you call with an issue, maintenance and management will hear nothing of it. If you come into the office, they will hear nothing of it. The only way to get your issue looked into is to speak to management, who's not always available, or maintenance yourself. Pretty much, unless you can reach management, you just have to deal with your problem. Your apartment's falling apart? Deal with it. Your oven wont work? Deal with it. Well renters, I thought I had a good apartment. Management is friendly and helpful. Maintenance is friendly too, however, the place is infested with roaches and it doesn't matter if the exterminator comes or not. Whatever it is that he is spraying makes the bugs become well fed. They do not go away, I see them more. What I had to get was some boric acid which kept them at bay but they never really went away. I also got some roach packs placed in corners, under my appliances. Did it stop them? No… , I still see some once in awhile. My point is, I have never had roaches in places I've lived. My husband and I are not happy at all because of roaches. Now, when we move to another place, we will have to exterminate our appliances before we place them in the new apartment. This apartment complex has the outward appearance of "everything is alright" and they tell you to give a three or five day assessment of the apartment and to mark down what is wrong. We have a big hole under our sink that stinks, I mean the smell is horrendous. Since moving in in June, this has not been fixed. We asked to have the stove fixed, the pans do not fit properly, when I cook the pots are leaning, in the refrigerator the bottom trays are not the proper ones, they are too small. We were told that they would be replaced, yet they have not been! I have not spoken to the property manager yet, but, I have an appointment to speak with her on Wednesday.
