Management Does Not Care
I have lived here for a few years now, and through those years, have seen the community change management at least three or four times. It gets worse and worse each year. Here is a pro and con list of this place:
PROS:
Pet friendly
Nice/spacious floor plans
Hardwood-look flooring on the first floor, which are easy to clean
Washer/Drier in unit
CONS:
Management does not answer phone calls or emails, even during their office hours (and does not respond to voicemails)
Management closes office... early often and or closes randomly without notice (meaning no being able to retrieve packages or speak with management about problems)
Garbage EVERYWHERE because of one small dumpster that is always overfilled (there should be at least two or three for the size of the community)
Frequent beer bottles broken in parking lot, unsafe for children and animals, and frequent litter scattered (probably due to the dumpster situation)
Some pet owners do not clean up after pets, leaving feces even on sidewalks, and many animals run outside off-leash
Soundproofing is terrible-- you can literally hear your neighbors having a casual conversation
Parking problems-- when one person has a party, there are no parking spots left for tenants since they stopped being assigned
Maintenance is terrible-- we have had minor problems since we moved in (such as a door being crooked and not closing and opening smoothly) and got the runaround for the first year and a half before giving up
Snow removal is terrible, which is a problem in Ellensburg. The entire parking lot (including steep hill) is a sheet of ice frequently in winter. Not safe for anyone. How hard is it to sprinkle ice melt in the DAYS to WEEKS following winter weather?
No enforcement of any rules (i.e. unauthorized pets, noise after 10PM, etc.)
Poorly installed cabinets-- literally several inches from the wall in some places
Extremely expensive for the area, considering the lack of amenities (i.e. pool, fitness center, etc. that other area apartments have)
We are in the process of purchasing a house to get out of these terrible conditions. We constantly regret re-signing the lease, but we did not have the finances to move to another apartment (deposit, moving truck/help, first/last month's rent, etc.) when our lease ended. If you don't mind having neighbors that sound like they're in your home, and don't mind living in filth, and don't mind being ignored by management, this place is fine. Otherwise, I recommend looking elsewhere.
