Dirty and shoddily maintained. Scotia!!!
Building stairwells and hallways have filthy walls, doors, and blackened, stained carpet. Expect multiple shades of 'white' paint smeared over your apartment's lumpy, poorly/spackled walls, and paint smeared on worn and bent bathroom fixtures. Whoever paints between tenants does not bother to tape off or remove anything before painting, nor is evenness of paint coverage a concern. Holes in walls and doors are poorly patched, if at all. Cupboards are original to the 70s, now crumbling garbage... particle board with scratches and hasty plywood patches. They boast of a pantry, but the kitchen sink is so shallow that you will end up washing larger dishes in the bathtub. The plumbing is out of code so expect leaks from the maze of pipes they installed over the years.Like many apartments, you can hear your upstairs neighbor snoring, and every step they take on the terrible squeaking floors. If you face the north (mountain view for which you will pay extra), be prepared to use ear plugs and a white noise machine to drown the racing traffic every morning and afternoon into evening. They actually have the nerve to advertise a maid service, but only pay for this if you have failing sight and physical infirmities (so as not to see the lousy, sloppy 'cleaning' job. They charge for carport parking! They advertise a gated secure lot but keep it open all day! Lightbulbs are out everywhere, but if you let them know it can take several days for replacements to be installed, if at all. The lobby always reeks of cloying fragrance, and they get enraged when the odorizing machine is unplugged, then tape threatening notes to the residents doors. This place is way overpriced considering the poor quality of maintenance and the neglected elevators, stairwells and doorways. Personally I can't stand that these spaces a resident must travel through daily are kept so filthy. We were so glad to move out! This place rakes in the rent and fees every month, typical of a Scotia managed place. Beware.
