Infested. Do not move here.

Verde has a lot of the same problems every lower quality corporate apartment has: old appliances, rising prices and hidden fees, weekly plumbing “emergencies,” inattentive management, bare minimum maintenance. I’m used to all of that, it’s part of renting, and I wouldn’t urge someone not to move on based on just that.

What’s really unacceptable is the cockroach infestation at Verde. It’s extremely prolific. Every inch of this entire complex is quite literally crawling with cockroaches. You...
walk around outside at night and the ground is covered in them. They’re in every room of my apartment. I spend large amounts of my days trying to kill the ones I see, then cleaning and re-cleaning and hoping to keep my items sanitary and safe from them.

They’re in the drains, under appliances, between every little crack everywhere. They’re in the walls laying eggs and hatching. We buy traps and bait and poison from the store, and it somehow only gets worse. We pay a monthly “pest control” fee that’s the equivalent of burning money, because if you can manage to talk them into sending someone out, they spray a little under a sink and say that’s all they do.

I keep my apartment clean and tidy. I even spend extra time taking specific measures against the cockroaches. It doesn’t matter. They’re already everywhere. There’s nothing I can do.

They’re in the pantry, on my clean dishes, in my cat’s food, the shower, the bedroom. Everywhere. Big ones all over. Then tons of tiny newly hatched ones because there’s multiple generations breeding in the walls. There’s no escaping it.

I’ve never been so depressed with my living situation. It is truly hopeless. I feel like a fool having signed another twelve month lease but I had no other choice. Moving is expensive and we didn’t have something lined up in time. I do refuse to sign again, because I cannot live this way anymore.

There’s a $300 referral bonus, which would be a nice break on rent. But I would only recommend someone lives here if I actually hated them.

Please, do not move into Verde. You will be infested and it will break you.

Roaches and mold everywhere

I only lived in this disgusting complex for 1.5 months before I moved, but please do not move here if you enjoy having good health. The entire complex is infested with German cockroaches. My kitchen in particular had the worst infestation. They’d call pest control but I swear to you, it did nothing. Once I moved into my new place, I found 3 roaches in my personal items. Luckily, those have been the only ones. Please do not move here. It is a gross complex and management truly does not care about... the tenants.

If you enjoy hot water, don't rent here!

If you are someone who enjoys having hot water or who takes issue with being treated without human decency by the property manager I do not recommend Verde apartments. They should think less about their Peloton bikes that no one uses and more about providing basic needs, like hot water, to their residents.

Do you like Leaf Blowers??

First, the pictures are of upgraded units, so add $100 to rent for those.
Landscape crew is here 2 or 3 times a week, where you are guaranteed to hear the drone of a leaf blower for at least an hour, today its going on about 2 hours. So if you work from home I would not recommend!
Don't expect responses from the office. It took me 4 emails and 2 complaints to get them to give me renewal prices. I had no choice but to stay, so I'm hoping to keep someone else out of this position.
Also my...
dishwasher has leaked since I moved in, after 5 emails about it I gave up and now wash by hand. When my neighbors AC unit turns off, it sounds like something was dropped on my roof. Just to list a couple.

Do Not Move In

Do not let the Advertised Photos or the Price fool you. The photos are what got me into this cockroach infested apartment in the first place. My hope is that this review can help you save your money before you get stuck in a 12 months lease like me: - The apartments are old, with stinky carpets, a noisy fridge and an even noisier dish-washer. - Because of the condition of the buildings (old), you can always hear noises from upstairs, and trust me if you live on an upper floor, people below you... hear you too. - They paint the apartment so it looks kinda nice inside but the strong smell persists. - When you move in give it a few hours until night time, cockroaches will be in your food, on your bed, and the small ones might even get in your ears if you are not a light sleeper. - FYI, they are German roaches which means it is a day-to-day battle to eradicate them yourself since the office does not do anything about it. (If you decide to move in anyway: contact Health Services when they start turning you around about the bug condition). - The office always claim that they are switching Pest Control company. For me, it's been a months since I moved in and it's been a month since I have been going to the office for a resolution. They smile, they say they put in an order... days later no one show up to spray the place. - I am not the first because the neighbors before have the same issues and I am not the last either. If I read the reviews before hand I would have been better off elsewhere.
