Poor management

Been living here for almost 4 years when Maria was here everything was great we could go to the office during business hours and she’d be there or call and she’d answer or return the call. On the other hand Charmaine is never in the office she doesn’t return calls and here recently two coyotes were running loose in the complex and a tenant informed her 3 weeks ago and she failed to notify tenants of the matter especially due to the fact there are kids that come out and play or go swimming at the... pool, she should have at least put up a notice of the sighting at the mail boxes or sent out an email. So many residents are complaining about how worthless she is and corporate should look into replacing her with someone that’s worth while.

Excellent Apartment Location and Great Management

I have been residing in Greenhaven for one year and I find the apartment complex designing and planning as the condos in England, U.K. The grounds are immaculate clean; beautiful trees and garden; well kept pool; and the gym machines are functioning great. The dumpster area is enclosed and kept clean! The dumpster carrier truck arrives every other day to take the garbage. I find this complex safe as we have security gates and codes; whereby not one homeless people can enter this vicinity. The... neighbors are polite. The manager is fabulous! Maria goes out of the way to help meet your concerns. For instance, maintenance, or any other issues, and she treats us as a family member. She responds right away when we need help. There are rules to follow in every organization and this is part of life. We cannot expect the manager to handle every issue. We keep our cars in our garage and we have ample of space! It is a fabulous complex to reside!

Decent Space; Poor Management

The apartments are cozy, but dated -- carpet, light fixtures, cabinets, et cetera. Overall, I've enjoyed the space. It's close to everything in town, and it has a garage. But our experience has not been perfect.

The fridge came with a fist mark impressed square in the center. We quickly bought our own. Each weekend you will awake to homeless people banging their way through the dumpsters. They never manage to properly spell "Greenhaven" on their leasing signage -- last banner that was ordered...
read "Greehaven".

The sprinklers run 2 or 3 times every day, until there is 6 inches of water running down the gutters and puddles on the sidewalks. This is not only a waste of water, but also a severe hazard.

The gym is 1 treadmill, 5 & 10 lb weights, a pulley weight lifter, a bicycle which has a poor seat position ergonomics that will likely hurt you more than help you, and a reciprocating walker. Meh. The pool is nice but the stairs are positioned awkwardly for lap swimming.

Cable is the only conduit-based option for phone, internet, and TV connectivity in our apartment. The cable lines are legacy RG58 cable, not RG6, so bandwidth is not great. Don't expect to get all your channels. The apartments will push it all off on the cable company. The cable company came out 5 times free of charge to help, but the building wiring is not under their control.

The lease stipulates that you cannot park outside of your garage for more than 4 consecutive hours -- not even in a parking space. It also says you can't work on your car in your garage, wash your car in your driveway, reverse into your garage, or store anything in your garage besides your two vehicles. Expect sporadic and inconsistent enforcement of these rules.

Early termination fees are not prorated so it is cheaper to continue to rent an apartment you don't inhabit than to turn it over to the apartment manager.

We struck a 1 year lease and it increased the subsequent year -- somehow I feel this was always an introductory offer, even though it was not marked as such.

Residents are not trusted with the gate code. If any number of residents start to figure it out, the apartment manager immediately has it changed. If you want the code, ask the delivery people. Residents are treated like second class citizens here. Your rent will end up being the cost of a mortgage payment, and your money will not yield you an asset or the pleasure of a home. Keep looking.

Serene

This is perfect town home if you're looking for serenity, the grounds are professionally kept with a park atmosphere where if you wanted to take a walk for exercise or a nightly stroll through the complex and feel at peace this is the place. The staff is very attentive to the needs of the renters. It equipped with pool, weight room on sight laundry mat or if you choose to have your own washer and dryer within your home there is also available, with a two car garage and you own patio for... entertainment of guest. It's within walking or driving distance grocery store, restaurants, shopping in the area. It's like being retired with the atmosphere of peace.
