Management is terrible! The place is surrounded by homeless day and night.
Unfortunately my experience at Oakwalk apartment was beyond unpleasant and I have to give my concerns regarding this place for future tenants. The management does not believe in good faith and will try to take all your deposit with charges you will be amazed.
I lived in Oakwalk for about a year and I wish there was a review less than 1 star that I could give, here is the list of issues in here:
- Unfortunately the place is surrounded with homeless people, some people live on the benches in front... of the apartment and it results in smelling urine outside, packages being lost multiple times and hearing uncomfortable comments whenever you walk outside of the apartment (day or night!)
- During my stay here the manager was very unresponsive. I had multiple accidents regarding my packages being stolen and when I contacted the manager about it, without any effort they replied that they are aware of the problem and suggested I send my mails to another place.
- The management does not practice good faith and aim to come up with charges to get all your deposit taken from you at the end of the lease. After I vacate the apartment I spent a whole day cleaning the place and then I was charged with 75$ for carpet cleaning, 145$ for apartment cleaning and 250 for floor replacement!! (which summed up to my whole deposit). So be aware if you are considering leaving your deposit in this place.
- The callbox does not work and management told me it will be fixed within few months when I moved in. But whenever I contacted them about it they said it wont be resolved (and it was never resolved (12 month after my move))
This place may sound a good deal when you hear about the rent but it does not worth all the hassle! Just get a place a little more expensive and have the experience of dealing with more professional people!
