expensive, old and cockroaches

lived here for 2 years.
From outside the apartment looks good.
But the buildings are old and cockroaches all over the apartment i lived. Never seen so many German cockroaches. It's crazy and insane.
Noisy apartment and it is expensive.

Property Manager at Brookside responded to this review

While we appreciate all feedback, we're very disappointed to read such a negative assessment of our community. Our team works very diligently to give residents a comfortable and pleasant place to call home. At Brookside, our management seeks to... ensure that all of our residents are given the best customer service all the time, and we apologize if you have experienced anything less than that. If you would like to discuss your concerns in more detail, please give us a call at (714) 523-1105.

FIND DIFFERENT APARTMENT

I've been staying here for about an year. I wish I could give them 0 star. Irresponsible, unethical, and reckless management. Stay away from this apartment and save yourself peace of mind

It's Good, but DEFINITELY Can Be Better

At first sight, the apartent complex looks is nice, clean, and quiet. But that's only on your tour of the grounds. Once you move-in, it's a completely different story. We live in an upstairs unit, so we obviously don't get the loud-foot steps. The ONLY downside of having an upstairs unit is the stairs, but that's unavoidable. During the summer months, the apartments don't cool off at all, and there's only one AC wall-unit (which is sucks a lot of power, and is located in the living room). The... bedrooms get VERY warm, we actually had to sleep in the living room with the AC on, some nights because it was so hot. Also, during the summer months, when kids are out of school, the complex becomes significantly louder, especially at night. Security doesn't enforce the curfew/quiet times, so there will people are in the pool area, well past 10pm, talking very loudly. Speaking of security, one night they gave EVERYONE who's car was backed-in, a citation ticket. Including mine. Sure, you're not supposed to back-in, but the spaces are VERY tight. Especially if you own a pick-up truck, or a SUV. Parking is awful. If you get there anytime past 6pm any day of the week, good luck. I had to park on the other side of the complex because it was so full, but I was getting home at 11pm. The owner of the apartments should allow occupants a second assigned parking space, especially for families/couples, who have to drive separate every day to work or school. And one last downside to the complex. There are no further signs indictaing which direction is an apartment is. You WILL get lost trying to find an apartment, especially if you don't know the grounds. We actaully had to carry the map, the office ladies gave us, around for the first week. There's only a few signs, but they are at the main entrance, pointing which driveway to take to which apartment number, but after that, nothing. We had a pizza delivery person tell us that they almost couldn't find our apartment. There's a whole bunch more I can say what can be improved, but then we would be here all day. Like the title says, it's good, but definitely can be better...
