BEWARE!!
You definitely get what you pay for in this complex, which includes: having your tires robbed, a bee infestation in your unit, loud, rude, and obnoxious neighbors, a pool that’s infested with unsupervised children very often (pre-COVID), and people drinking/smoking in the parking lot. Oh, and lots of trash. I lived here for FOUR years with my husband.
First things first, BEWARE OF SECURITY HERE. ALL FOUR TIRES from my brand new car were stolen while parked IN OUR COVERED ASSIGNED SPOT. The... complex and police did nothing to offer help or sympathy.
We had a bee infestation IN our unit, TWICE, and my husband is allergic. We demanded a reduction in rent after he got STUNG by one. Their response was essentially: “But did you die? Here’s a $100 gift card.” At the time, my husband and I were working 15+ hours a day and just couldn’t deal with fighting it.
The quality of finishing in the apartment is aesthetically decent until you actually live there and realize it’s just that: aesthetics. The flooring is essentially vinyl stickers that pull up easily, for example. I could go on and on about the poor quality. At times, our water would shut off without notice and other things going on wouldn’t be properly communicated until too late.
The ONLY saving grace here is Felipe, the maintenance worker, who is the most considerate and helpful person I’ve encountered here. If you choose to live here, develop a relationship with him and all your maintenance requests will be handled painlessly. Felipe deserves to run the show, being the most competent and efficient person here.
Good riddance, Shadow Mountain.
