I wanted to bring up several ongoing concerns regarding the amenities and maintenance issues at Oceanaire. Many of these problems have been reported since March, yet little to no progress has been made.
The roof decks are essentially unusable for residents. They are empty, missing chairs and seating, and all of the lights are out, making the area very dark and unsafe at night.
The pool and hot spa area also remain poorly maintained. The hot spa lights still do not work, which creates another... unsafe environment for residents trying to use the amenities in the evening. Management advised back in March that repairs were “in the works,” but months later nothing appears to have been fixed.
Additionally, several common areas are missing TVs, and the gym conditions are unacceptable. The gym equipment is often covered in sweat and could use a deep cleaning. The A/C has also been broken, making the space uncomfortable to use. Free weights are still missing as well. Maintenance previously stated these items were on backorder in March, but it is difficult to understand why replacement dumbbells could not simply be purchased locally.
Residents continue to hear excuses, especially that this is an “older building,” but many older buildings still provide well-maintained amenities and responsive management. Communication with Greystar has also been difficult, as it is very hard to get ahold of anyone regarding these concerns.
I believe the company should appoint someone to regularly inspect the property amenities and ensure the building is meeting the standards residents are paying for. At this point, these unresolved issues are making me reconsider renewing my lease.
