This property does not have 4 stars
Although I like the interior look of my unit, security is terrible. Security companies constanty turn over, they're obnoxious, rarely at the desk, helpful or even cordial. I discovered a homeless individual living in the unit right next to mine, who after being discovered stated that he had been living there for four months. My question is, how did this person come in and out of this supposedly secure building for four months. There is no real security here. I have been here for a year and... all three elevators have never been operable at the same time. Some of my windows do not open and close. I have spoken to office staff yet they have not been fixed.
The nightclub Lost But Found on Main Street blasts music on Thurs, Fri, and Sat until 2am. You will be absolutely miserable in your unit during this time. I have reported repeatedly and nothing has been done. Police have been called but never respond. Most concerning is my utility bill. They have a system where they split the bill among all residents. Mine was ridiculously high. Management admitted that I was being charged double or triple and that it was an issue that affected some new residents. I was assured that they were auditing my account and would provide me with a credit. I was also encouraged to pay my rent by check or money order in the interim and pay a little more to satisfy the utilities until they solved the issue. We are a year in and I have a $4000 plus balance on my account although I have never paid my rent late, and no-one is addressing the issue. This building is not focused on the tenant after they move you in. Most downtown buildings put up christmas trees or some sort of decoration, this one did nothing, despite resident requests. It seems trivial until when you put it in perspective you begin to realize that it is another indication that they do not value their customers.

Not at all as advertised
Where to start? A few years ago the building was not the best but not the worst to live in dtla. But over the last few years mismanagement, lack of maintainable, and a revolving door of property managers have left us with roaches, transients squatting, broken elevators, no fire pumps, and lawsuits from residents suing the owners, previous and current owners suing each other, and the city of Los Angeles housing authority suing the owners and deeming multiple units uninhabitable.
Laundry room (... in the basement) is either flooded with most machines not working or dry with most machines not working. The building will not service the machines as a 3rd party owns them. And the 3rd party service will not refund you as there is a different provider for that. If you have an in unit washer. The building won't service it. They don't want to deal with it.
Parking:bums, addicts and squatters will key your car, and that's if the water pipers in the building aren't already leaking on your car.
Don't move here. There are better buildings

PSA ! Don’t move here, management is unprofessional unable to reach , all phones line disconnected to them. Emails never get responded. They ran our building to the ground. It was awesome until the new owners came in last year. One of three Elevators working , sometimes none. Cooling tower for the whole building was out for months during the summer, and during the winter the heating tower is still out. Squatters and drug laps everywhere , unsecured building access, parking gate are constants... malfunctioning leaving our cars vulnerable to break ins and in the building. Building is now Infested with roaches , coming from the sinks, drains stove, and outlets. Management won’t do anything.

Don’t ever rent with a Greystar property, communication is horrible and they treat tenets worse than the roaches that live in the building with us.
