Regretful about living here
I'm regretful about my decision to live here. Tripalink is an awful mgmt company. Save yourself from headache & safety hazards. The rent is cheap for a reason. There's been a new property manager every few months bc they go through hell working under Tripalink. Here are the issues at Atlas:
1. Broken elevators & amenities, no water in building: I live on the 12th floor & there have been many days when I'm leaving for work and I had to walk all the way down bc of broken elevators. Elevator... permit was expired until recently. Swimming pool is usually dirty and the patio fire pit never works. Residents had to live without water for several hours one day bc they accidentally cut off water.
2. Water leaks: Within a year of living here there have been water leaks that damaged my belongings. I had to put towels and bowls to prevent it from damaging my TV and other furniture. One time the bolts holding the window blinds came loose and the heavy metal fixture slammed inches above my brother's head. Tripalink hasn't given me any compensation.
3. Carelessness by Tripalink Mgmt: I submitted maintenance request for the waterleaks and damages on 2/6/24. All they did was give me plastic buckets and tell me that they can't fix the blinds until the drywood dries up. They put up one of those blue Home Depot tarps in my room for TWO months. I emailed the mgmt saying this is a breach of lease and asked for some compensation. Their offer was 10 days of free guest parking. They just don't give a dime. I also reached out to mgmt about my TILTED floors and they didn't do anything about it.
4. Weird utility billing system: Usually in any normal apartment building, each unit has their own electricity meter so you pay for what you use. Atlas, however, has ONE meter for the whole building that gets divided among the tenants. So I'm paying for what other people are using PLUS the A/C and electricity bills used in the hallways, lobby, mailroom, etc. My utility bill has been going up since more people have moved in. Residents complained about the utilities bill and the management's response was basically, "It was written in your lease agreement."
5. Unpleasant & dangerous neighborhood: I used to love going on morning and evening walks but I stopped ever since I moved here. As soon as you walk out of the main doors it smells like pee. Homeless are roaming around peeing and pooping and the management does not care. They scream late at night & I've even heard gunshots.
