Love Living Here

After a year of living at Cahuenga Place, I'm convinced that this is one of the cleanest and best managed complexes in LA. No issues with bugs or anything in that regard, which was a major concern for me before moving. Amanda is a fantastic manager and her care for the wellbeing of tenants is wonderful and welcoming. She has made great improvements to the building, from making the pet area larger and safer to being incredibly responsive in making sure the needs of our apartment are met! I feel... truly at home and safe here. While there have been some minor annoyances from past water shut offs and the gate not closing, they are structural issues that have always been clearly communicated and quickly fixed. The units themselves are spacious and come with great amenities, along with large balconies to enjoy the view of the hills. Also the location can't be beat, we have everything we need within a short walk or drive. We love calling this place home!

love this place!

This place is such a nice, well kept, quaint building in such a great location. I love walking up to city walk, loved being 3 feet from La fitness (when it was open)
SUPER quiet and clean units! Nice neighbors, small community feel. Really quick & responsive staff. Overall really feels like home here.

Great Building with Amazing Management! Love Living at Cahuenga Place

Firstly, my move-in process took less than a week! Everything was completed online and they even have a tenant portal so you can pay rent, text/email management directly, submit work orders and recieve any updates about the property. Not only was all the paperwork electronic (saves the trees!) but every apt has a recycling basket that is recycled daily! In my past apts I have such a hard time getting in touch with my manager and this app has made it so easy!
When I had to get some maintenance...
finished and John(maintenance tech.) came to repair within 24 hours of submitting my online work order, he was very professional and helpful.
Moving to Cahuenga Place also gets you a FREE LA FITNESS MEMBERSHIP! It's located next door and let me tell you, I have never been in such great shape in my life! Another amenity I love is the Jetsons Lounge. It's a theater room that you can use for private events or just watching a movie on the big screen.
I'm so happy living at Cahuenga Place and I won't be leaving anytime soon!

So happy to have found a home

Went to visit this property last week and loved it! When I walked into the lobby and saw milk bones in a bowl and was greeted by the manager, I felt both my dog and me were off to a good start. I moved in yesterday and the maintenance staff were very helpful. I did a walk through with the manager and everything was great. I was promised an electric fireplace and it had been hung, perfect as it has been actually cold this week. The kitchen has all the amenities, including a wine fridge.

building is very pet friendly and has a dog run out back. How nice is it to not just have a work out room, but free membership at LA Fitness on the property?!!

Shady Management Company

I applied to the 3400 Cahuenga property even though I was already approved and had a deposit at a different property. After speaking with the manager on Sat., I was assured that I could have my application approved by Mon. and that my file was complete. I asked if she was certain, because I'd lose the $230 deposit I had on the other apartment and I had to start a new job in 6 days, and thus had to move in by Tuesday. On Mon., despite having provided documentation of a six figure income and six... figures in savings, they said they wanted more bank statements, which I provided (even though they had previously told me that my file was complete). I was asked at that time to put down a full security deposit, not the customary smaller holding deposit. I refused, because I was not yet approved. Later that evening, I received an email from the manager stating that my application was approved by the director of operations and she again asked me to put down more than the amount of a security deposit (i.e. more than the normal 1 month's rent). The following morning, I called to ask why the amount was in excess of what I expected. (She had not provided any explanation in the email, just asked for more than I expected). She said they were unable to verify my rental history because my last rental building had changed owners and they no longer had my tenant file. Thus, Sky Properties wanted $536 more in deposit money from me, because of the extra "risk." I didn't want to pay the extra money, so I provided my old lease and rent payment receipts and asked them to contact my second to last rental to vouch for me since the most recent one no longer had my records, and would that be enough to get the normal security deposit amount. She said yes. By Wed, I received an email from the director of operations revoking my approval (although I was previously approved if I paid the extra $536, so that goes to show you all they're really fater). She admitted that they had not tried to contact my second to last rental themselves, and only the most recent rental mattered anyway, despite her manager saying otherwise. I lost $270 in deposits/fees and THOUSANDS of dollars in a week of lost job income b/c I had to push my start date back a week due to what they put me through and not being able to move in time. Avoid this company, with their shady, unethical business practices and poor communication, and save yourself the same misery.
